Anyone Park Outside?

About a month after buying my 05 SSM last September, I felt guilty having my wife park outside and loading the kids into a cold, wet car. So I put my MR2 outside, and even the TL once in awhile.

Well, I just scored a older Porsche, an '82 911 SC Targa (with only ~34K original miles, I couldn't resist!). I've always wanted a 911. Needless to say, this is now the garage queen/weekend cruiser. And the TL stays out in the elements. I might be able to sneak it inside once in awhile when the weather warms ups.

Oh well. My neighbor keeps his late-model E class outside, which make me feel a little less bad about it. Anyone else forced to park outside. Cause for dismay...or just BFD?

My 06 NBP has been sitting outside since after Thanksgiving (went up north the day after I recieved it so garaged it for the holiday weekend) and I haven't had any problems yet. Well, aside from the thin layer of dust that I collects each morning. Gotta clean it just about every weekend or itll be a brownish layer over the NBP Oh and BFD?

Don't sweat it, mine's been out since day 1. Wash and wax it regularly and don't park under sappy trees.

Here in N.E. I've allways had to park outside, when I had a garage (previous marriage) the x would use to store antiques , and unfortunately now I don't have a garage but like Adam9997 above, I wash it weather permiting and wax it as many times I can...

Ever since I moved to my new house this past June of 05, I have been parking outside since there is still boxes and a riding lawn mower in the garage. We still need to get a fence and a shed to clear the garage. As for my TL, it's been out everysingle night. I use a custom car cover when my car is CLEAN. I usually wipe my car down every other day so the paint does not build up with dust on the paint. I need to clay my car sooner than I thought.

This is funny to me, because less than 15 minutes ago, I pushed the car out of the garage to sit in the drive today. It's an nbp, but looks gray now with caked on salt from winter driving.

It's pouring rain today, so I figured I could get some of the salt off by letting it sit out in the elements.

I do feel bad when I leave it out in the elements. All of my prior cars were always outside, but for some reason I feel bad when the TL is out.. Maybe it's just me.

My motorcycle and my son's outdoor toys live in my one-car garage. The TL lives outside.

I need to take better care of the paint, that's for sure. It also important to regularly treat the weather seals around the doors/windows so the sun does not dry them out.

My wifes car, the Shelby and the 66 fastback rule my garage- so my TL has to stay outside as well-

that the main reason I got silver- does not look that bad dirty-

I wash it every weekend and wax it once a month-

I guess I'm lucky to have a 3 car garage, so all my cars live in the garage, 05 TL, 03 Mazda 6s, even my 95 Accord.
When my GF drives to my house, her Camry gets in and my Accord sleeps outside.

my mustang is the garage king also. i usually have to wash the TL once a week, its black though and i think most of the dirt comes from driving rather than sitting.

OK, I'm feeling a little better. Yeah, I agree that frequent washing is the key. If you let it go for a really long time, it just gets tougher to get all the accumulated crap off. We basically live in a forest (for the past 2-1/2 years). It's particularly tough on cars around here.

My TL hasn't spent a night outside since I bought it. Even my parents offered up their garage space (without me asking) when I went up to visit them. Guess they knew what one costs......
Anyways both mine and the wife's cars stay inside. She too like getting into a warm car in the winter.

My car only gets to see the inside of my garage for maintenance or when I get a new mod for it. The garage is home to my moms to beemers (530i,z4) and my 3 bikes ( yamaha125, 250, and a scooter for walking my dog)
