Anyone else having this problem?

When I take off quickly - my front wheels lose grip and spin. I thought that the stability system was supposed to prevent this. Any thoughts?

Literally spin or just a short chirp?

Does your stability light flash? If so, then it is working.

I have noticed that the TL allows more wheelspin than most stability/traction control systems. However, be grateful for this...with BMW the brakes get applied to control the wheelspin and the engine power gets cut too. So in a BMW (and many others) you wind up with the power train bogging way down when you get wheelspin.

Personally, I prefer the TL's response with a little too much spin as opposed to too much restraint.

I like the spin. If I take off quickly it gets the attention of everyone.

Yeah, and what did the cop say? You can't get a ticket for accelerating.

4 points in Colorado. Not sure if it's the same in every state, but here you only get 8 points until your 21...They ended up just giving me a "warning" though.

(See title) That's how I look at it.

I've done that twice. I wasn't sure it WOULD do it. I had five teenage boys/neighbors on a demo ride at night. I just had a feeling that I could break the wheels loose whenever I wanted to. It was kind of intuitive, even though I only had 600 miles on the car. When the light turned green, I gave it about a quick inch and 1/2 jab on the pedal and it broke loose with a loud squeal. I let up immediately and said "Oops!, Sorry." as if it were accidental. If you are into impressing teenaged boys, that's the formula. Well, that and a rap DVD-A with the subwoofer turned up.

The second time, I was creeping into the garage and I rolled up against the one inch lip at the garage entrance and the car stopped up against it. I gave it a little gas to get over the lip, and left about 10" of rubber on my new garage floor. That was a real "Oops!"
