Question Anybody run their car hard?

I've put on over 9k miles in 5 months, and most of that has been at highway speeds in excess of 75+ mph. Does anybody else run their car hard for extended periods of time, and if you do, does it take the beating and keep smiling? I had an Altima as my last car, and after about 30k miles, it felt like it couldn't live anymore. I'm not comparing the two, but everything was starting to go bad on it, and I kept up with the maintenance....

Anyway, I'm just trying to gauge as to if I'm being a little rough on her and should dial it down a notch. Thanks.

ive had it for about 3 or 4 months... 10-11k on it so far... (I have quite a commute).

my car works just fine... i really dont know as far as quality goes... i came from a bone stock cavalier... so anything with the TL is great...

I wouldn't really consider driving in excess of 75+ mph really beating your car. If you redlined your car in every gear, and WOT every chance you get, then that would be a beating.

I agree. Thats easy driving as far as the car is concerned.

In my RepMobile I do 9k in about 2 1/2 months. Mostly highway miles. They've held up fine and they've been a Chevy, a Pontiac and a Ford. For the most part they are the "proven" engine in the range and are pretty durable.

Honda gasoline engines are pretty much bullet proof. I don't think you've got anything to worry about engine-wise.

Remember, your car is designed to run up to 160 MPH so it's safe to drive 70-90 MPH every day!

Your driving habits are probably *the* most optomum for longevity. At 75-80 mph, you're probably using in the area of 35-40 horsepower. If that ain't loafing (while still keeping engine oil nice and warm, where it oughtta be), nothing is. Furthermore, with that much mileage, you're probably doing a lot of miles between startups. which is when most engine wear occurs.

Don't sweat it. You're looking at an easy 200K miles before engine and drive train wear and tear start to show - provided you have it serviced when Honda recommends.

Stop-and-go city traffic is WAY harder on your car than 75mph highway driving. In fact I would say that 75mph highway driving is probably the easiest mileage you could put on a car.

I run my car pretty hard.. ive had my car for 8 months and have 32000 miles on it. I do mostly highway driving and i probably hit at least 90-95mph everyday. Shes been fine and drives just like when i first got it. I also have a Cold Air Intake which makes me want to floor it all the time just to here that wonderful sound .. Im pretty sure im one of the people who drive their car the hardest on the board plus the fact that im a typical 18 year old .

Is it just me or do others need a translator for that statement?
When did this bus stop at the ghetto?

To the OP...I WISH I could drive 75 for long periods daily. I do most of my commute at about 40-45, with lots of stop n go's. I waste a lot of gas and time at lights, and IMO that really does the engine no good at all.

Your driving a Honda. They are designed to be driven hard.

Just make sure you perform all scheduled maintenances and you should be fine.

Hard driving: KBP TL Type-S

I've ran my 07 KBP TL Type-S A/T pretty hard once, pulling on my friends SE-R Turbo, WRX and Type-R. Decent car with power when you need it. Needless to say, they weren't happy with the results.
