In a straight line - G > TL.

In everything else - TL > G.

by saying "another thread about..." it means that you know someone has already asked this question and made a thread about it and yet you make another thread about this. keep it up man.

Too true.
You will get over insignificant power difference and realize that sexy looks and a beautifully designed interior is more important imo

While agree that yes the same conversations are getting rehashed, if they didnt we would have nothing to talk about

G35's are ugly, but faster. Reasons I didnt buy one is because of gas mileage and the oil leakage issue- read up on it, seems like a pretty big deal...

If I was going to buy a Nissan product, I'd buy the 370z simply because it looks a hell of a lot better than the G37 without the bloated price tag.

a tl-s 6mt should take a auto or 6mt g35 with equal drivers imo. i have an 04 6mt and have not lost to a stock g35. i only have a cold air intake.

Better choice I will say TL-S. Up to 2011 I still think TL-S look better than that G series. If talk about performance wise I will choose 370Z.

DC, you're going to get a more biased Acura answer just because of the basis of this forum.

Tl-s would kill a 06 g35, my good friend owns a 06 g35 auto and I own a 05 tl auto. We were both stock and raced from a stop. We were neck and neck up till about 50mph until he pulled away by a few car lengths (mind you I have a 100lb. Subwoofer box and a second battery in my trunk)...any who, I soon after installed ATLP v2 quads, ATLP j-pipe v3, rv6 race pipe, and a short ram intake and obv. Raced again both from a stop and a 45mph roll in which I raped him haha (still with the system in the trunk). Needless to say a tl-s 6mt would kill my 05 auto even with my exhaust, so you do the math....not to mention the style of the tl-s interior completely trumps the g35

Yes, a properly driven stock TL-S 6mt will easily spank a base 5at with a few bolt ons. An extra 20 whp on a 5at doesn't turn it into a 14.00-14.10 @ 100 mph car.

On a less sarcastic note, if only these things were rear wheel drive then we could maybe actually compare these two. But the fwd kills the comparison......
I never had torque steer like this back when the wife had a Toyota van.

a bolted on tl-s 6mt will hang extremely well with a stock 6mt g37 sedan. as for the tl-s 6mt, it'll take a g35 6mt, assuming a few bolt ons. a fully bolted on tl 5at will also beat a stock g35 coupe auto. can't comment on other combos, as i haven't experienced them. my fully bolted on tl took a g35 coupe 5at by about a cars length.

I test drove the G35 and a base TL when I was shopping around. I knew the minute I sat in the G that I wasn't buying it. The TL's interior was leagues ahead of the G. I'm all about interior. You sort of spend most of your time inside the car. Anyway, the G seemed faster up the onramp to the freeway and at sheer acceleration. But with the interior and the feel of the TL's tranny (love Honda manuals...) I decided to go the route of the TL.

I was actually just gonna call it a day right there but I would have felt back getting out of the car before I even test drove it. The salesman was pretty nice and I think he cut his lunch break short to meet me on my schedule, so I wouldn't have felt like a real douche. I had fun with it though Pushed it to the max. Nice car fo sho. But again, interior, interior, interior. Well, and exterior too. But that's at least subjective. The interior isn't even an arguement.

if you are thinking about a g35, consider the 07-08 g35 which is significantly better in every way than previous years

i like the TL-s because you get alot of features for what you pay and its beautiful and thats an understatement. i dont really like the G35 sedans style imo. i dont think either car is that much faster than each other. the G35 may be faster but in the end, whos watching which car cross the finish line

anyone know the weight difference between the cars?

Overall in terms of a good car, the TL gets it. If you do research on Google, you'll notice that quality in the TL cars are were better than the G Cars.

To be fully honest, most people buy the G cars because its fast and that's it. I honestly believe the G delivers great performance, but at the same time delivers nothing else. If you want a car that can perform in a straight line, get the G. If you want a car that is good in overall value and best bang for the buck in terms of features, get the TL.
