Will be getting my XPEL, 3M, installed on Monday. The installer said I will have to choose between two different hood films. The difference is one goes up 17" and the other goes up 24", they are the same price, so naturally I thought 24" more coverage. He said the 17" looks better, harder to see.


For those who have already gotten XPEL, do you have the 17" or 24", was that even an option for you?

 

Those bras in the hoods seem like 17"... what do you think?

 

Mine goes up 17" and it seems that the 24" would be to far.

My clear bra extends almost 23 inches up the hood (measured in the center), and it isn't too far. Indeed, the rock that hit my not-yet 2000 mile NBP struck just up the hood from where the plastic ended. I wish the whole hood had been covered (which would also solve the only real noticeable line problem).

But are you sure you're not referring to the regular vs. extended bumper kit? That was the only possible choice at several shops I've heard of. (Though the extended kit is not the same price!)

Short answer: 24 inches is my vote!
