Hey does the switchbacks really help with the look of the angel eyes?

I honestly think it will over power them just giving the headlight a solid blue look from a distance.

I hate to say it, but Angel eyes aren't unique anymore. LEDs either, they are all over on AUDI,BMW,LEXUS,CHEVY, MERCEDEs, VOLVO, and the list doesn't end. I suppose everyone with black roofs are coping the new nissan maxima?

BTW - our cars aren't "trash". Don't mean to hate on people, but I don't like when people put that home depot garage door weather stripping on the front like its a lip.

If I remember right, the old, BMW halos are halogen bulbs, so that's where the "yellow" color is coming from. Not sure if they stepped up to LEDs or CCFL now.

As Ack pointed out, car manufacturers that aren't Audi or BMW are using halos and LEDs more and more, now. We have LEDs in the fogs area for Mercedes-Benz, on top of (I forgot which class. E or S class I think) a new model that will have two options for lighting from MB: standard xenon headlights and halogen fogs OR LED headlights and LED fog lights. Then there's the Camaro with halos now as well from factory. Now Ford's trying to do something with those LED/CCFL (not sure which one they are) bars on the front bumpers to the sides. Reassembles LED strips in the fogs to me. Then there's something simple such as whiter/brighter license plate lights. Mimics a Lexus to me, but BMWs are doing it now on top of everyone else wanting to do the same with LEDs or CCFLs.

The list will keep growing as different manufacturers start "copying" something from others if it'll help them sell their cars. People will either buy cars that already come with halos from the factory and save themselves the hassle OR buy aftermarket halos to go with a car they love that didn't come with any from the factory.

It's only a matter of time before every car will look the same/come with similar options when the technology will be cheaper to incorporate. LEDs from factory that are laid out then have heat sinks properly laid out with LEDs that can produce enough lumens to see easily during the day and have reflectors developed to help with their visibility all costs money to research and develop. It doesn't help that the costs of the really good LEDs that are higher wattage or brighter that can last are up there still up there, but as time goes on, costs will slowly decrease and we'll see them coming from the factory more frequently.

With that out of the way, OP, really clean install. Same to all the others that have done it, though my favorites for anything angel eyes or LED related are definitely SharksBreath (love switches that let you do whatever you feel in the mood for) and Roger's (followed the work from HIDP, especially with the new tinkering in adding amber LEDs to make them switchback DRL/turn signals).

The new angel eyes are now high powered LEDs.
Some BMW folks are even using HIDs in their angel eyes. Insane.

I heard the newest BMWs are using high powered LEDs over halogens.
And when I mentioned HIDs, I meant that there are some folks on BMW forums supposedly using HIDs for their angel eyes.

HID for the angels eyes make only one ring stand out. I was thinking of installing HID angels to my 5 series but I saw some cars with HID angels and you just see one ring. The second ring is completley washed out.

The best way to go is CCFL rings. Umnitza makes the Orion V2 lights but they cost $400 for the 5 series and labor unless you do it yourself is another $200. I am not interested in paying $600 for lights. I am just going to get the LED angle eyes soon for $120.

Anyway I do understand more brands are copying each other but BMW was the first to come out with the halos. Audi put the LED strip under the light and then Mercedes made the LED strip as the fog lights. Lexus copied audi by putting a LED strip under the lights and Ford is trying to pull the same shenanigans.

I did not call the TL trash. I do agree putting some homemade lip from home depot is trashy. But once again its up to the owner to put stuff on. Since the 3G TL are dropping in price all sorts of people are buying it.....earlier today I saw a gold TL with chrome tails and a fartcan.

this thread just popped up so i just read it again lol
on the first page i defend the halos but I am completely done with them now
so many TLs have them now and they really do affect the cutoff line from the zkws significantly and diminish light output. I just picked up type s headlights and am not going to put dual v2 halos in em haha they were fun while they lasted

its all in ur head bro lol i used to think the same way

my justification was "the halos are led white so they are putting out more light" but in reality the thickness of those rings negates the light output because its covering the bezel and a good amount of the lens. Also you dont have as much of a crisp cutoff line because the thick halos interferes with the line. JpTL only has his halo on the drl portion i believe so his output is not affected in any way. With type S headlights tho i rather have dual halos like u have

Yeah but I am getting the cut off line and better output. I measured it and I got about 3 inches longer (that's what she said) and 2 inches wider. Same area used before n after
