Amber Light

Hi Folks,

Is there any way I can disable the DRL light and have the amber lights come on instead, and also have them work with the headlights during the night when the HID's are on? any advise would be appreciated

Help me understand this, you want the DRLs to be disabled at all times, except to come on concurrently with the headlights?

If I understood correctly, Id say that seems either redundant or pointless. If you don't like the look of the DRLs try looking into an LED DRL kit. The DRLs are there for your safety, I wouldn't disable them.
The amount of light they emit would be overshadowed by the Xenon.

wrong I do want my DRL, I just want my Amber bulbs to work as my DRL that are at end. The same way as taking out the fuse for the DRL, and having my headlight switch at one click where the amber is on and my tail lights and not the HID. but instead of of the tail lights on i want the amber lights to act as my DRL.

I'm sure it can be done, you might want to look at an electrical wiring map of your TL and go from there.
Buy some fuses because you're probably going to blow a ton of them testing this and getting it to work.

As far as getting it done I don't know because the only electrical work I've done is LED switchbacks and soldering my hazard relay.

Yes, there are modules out there that allow you to use your front turn signals as DRLs while still retaining the signaling and parking light functions.

I have no idea why you would want turn signal DRLs though. They won't be as bright as your stock DRLs, they look like crap (IMO), and they will make your car look like a POS early 2000s Buick.

04-06 US models had no DRLs. 04-06 Canadian models had white DRLs inboard of the HID projectors like the 07-08 US models.

^Turn signal DRLs were used a lot on Buicks and a few other GM vehicles in the late 90s/early 2000s. I always thought it looked cheesy and I was glad they mostly moved away from it.

That's just my opinion. If you like the look, here's a turn signal DRL module that will retain the turn signal and parking light functions. http://dastern.torque.net/Mods/DRL/DRL1.html
