Alternative install methods for 3G rear deck spoiler?

Whatsup all ,

I was reading about how other acura body styles just use the 3m tape to "install" the rear deck spoiler as opposed to utilizing the drill/screws method and was curious if this also applies to the 3G TL??

I have also read about how this particular spoiler has been stolen by simply ripping it off the car so im weighing the pros and cons of someone trying to tear this thing off and ruin my paint as well as taking the spoiler in the scenario that I drill and attach it with screws, as opposed to just being down a spoiler but if I didnt drill, I would at least be saving the paint.

1. Is it possible to just stick on the spoiler with 3m tape only and if so has anyone had any problems with that?

2. I typically do all the mod stuff myself so who has done it themselves WITH the drill/screws and would they have taken it for pro install had they a second opportunity to do so, based on unevenness or spacing, etc?

thank you!

Are you talking about the wing spoiler or the type s trunk lip? The wing spoiler would need to be bolted down, no question.

Im not trying to be rude but if you read the original post regarding the research I did-maybe you could enlighten yourself. Do a few searches and maybe you can answer your own question.

Yeah I did so let me put it to you like this:

1. 3mm tape works if it didnt you would see numerous of threads or members posting about not using it. You did research but worrying over nothing. Prep is the key.

2. If you have to take to a pro then dont bother doing it at all. Save yourself the time.

Im done here good luck

well im not sure how the tape by itself would only work with those 1/4 threads sticking out the bottom of the spoiler by almost an inch-because they would need to be cut off-HENCE THE ALTERNATIVE METHODS??? ie; you would have to cut or dremel the threads off etc, i presume.

i installed last night with no problems via drill and 3m tape per usual install in under 30 min.

thank you for the best wishes, you have been incredibly helpful pfft lol.

you got that backwards man, the problem isn't that your "people" get easily offended, it's that you're being indiscriminate. what would you think if you saw something like that in someone's sig except it was with the N word replacing "chink" followed by some black stereotype? that crap wouldn't fly anywhere and you'd think the poster was an idiot. if u and ur friends think it's funny calling each other chink then use some discernment and keep that crap amongst yourselves, not on public forums
