Almost 44k miles, Maintenance?

Well, I changed the Air Filter, Cabin Air Filter and PS Fluid on Saturday.

As I just bought this car last week, the dealer already did an oil change. They might do a 1x3 ATF drain some time this week.

I'm thinking about doing a 3x3 at 50k. Should I change the filter after the 1x3 or at 50k with the 3x3? Do they sell the filter (or "element") at the dealer? What's the part#?

I'm going to be flushing the brakes on Saturday. How much fluid do I need? I have 1 qt of Castrol GT LMA.

Any other maintenance I should do? I have an 06 A/T.

I had an 06 Jetta transmission fail on me before and I don't want to deal with that again...

You're going to need 2 bottles of brake fluid to do a full brake fluid flush.

You might as well do a 3x3 tranny fluid change now, and then do a 1x3 @ 60k.

I don't know the part #, but they do have the transmission "filter" at the stealer.

*I recommend you do the tranny drain/fill @ home. It's very similar to an oil change, and will save you $. The dealer will probably charge you $70-$80 for a 1x3 tranny drain/fill.

*Maybe do some seafoam @ 50k?

Actually the dealer I bought it from is going to do the 1x3 for free.
and I'm not really a fan of seafoam actually.

I guess I'll go buy a bottle of brake fluid soon. I will be vacuum bleeding/flushing it as well since I don't have a helper lol.

Well, I don't really like additives in general.
I can see why people like it but I prefer not to use it.

with the extra crud left behind by the poor burning of E10 gas, some type of cleaner will help every car

your choice on brands, some are better than others, most work well enough thru the gas if used at max dose allowed- not a bottle to full tank,,,more like 1/4 to 1/2 tank of gas

seafoam is one you can use in the intake as it will compress and burn! extra fast that way

1x3 mean 1 drain and refill of 3 quarts
3x3 means 3 drans and refills of 3 quarts each time

Well, the dealer did a 1x3 today. My dad wasn't satisfied and told me to do a 3x3 on Saturday since I can use a lift at school. Might as well since I'm also doing a brake flush.

Are these the Part #'s for the dealer?

007 25450-RAY-003 ELEMENT (ATF) x1
021 91301-RAY-004 O-RING (48.5X2.95) x1
024 94109-12000 WASHER, DRAIN PLUG (12MM) x2

and should I change the filter before the 3x3, In the middle of 3x3 or after the 3x3?
I'm thinking of draining it then change the filter and start the 3x3.

do a search or Garage section for how to 3x3, its not just drain and refill and the total is 12 qts not 9
