That is true but dealers can always connect this to any engine problems. IMO.

as long as what ever problem that does arise with the car isnt proven to be caused by the product installed it wont be voided (in other words, it has to be proven to be the cause to void the warranty)

And if a problem arises and you think it may be caused by the intake, simply take the hour to switch them back before going to the dealer. They cannon blame the problem on an aftermarket part that they cannon currently see.

[FONT=Garamond]Okay. So here is MY question. First of all it has to be proven the CAI caused an issue. Fine. Now, if they know I have a CAI and I take my 04 TL for routine service or some other non-engine related issue, WILL THEY DOCUMENT THAT I HAVE A CAI ? In my opinion this could come back to haunt us later EVEN IF we take it off before any kind of engine damage is done?
Many thanks for the feed back!

T-Mobile...The dealership should note that if they notice any CAI or any other aftermarket product on your car as long as it is under their warranty. Their note might not show up on your service record, but they will make a memo of it which can be accessed whenever they pull up the car.

if the dealer is like my acura dealer (PARK AVE ACURA), they are authorized to sell and install Injen, Comptech, AEM, H&R, and Ingalls. any aftermarket purchased and installed from the dealer would be covered under my original warranty.....SAWEEET!!

CAI Scardy Wildcat Question

Gochan, 92 NSX, 3PUTT and Subinf,
Thank you for the input. I love this site. Yes, if the light went on, if given the oppertunity to take out the CAI; I would. Not looking forward to this. I will post photos of the install soon. It took 3 1/2 hours seeing as my nextdoor neighbor who helped so much talks incessantly. The payoff is he is a good friend and does it for FREE!!!

BTW- I was looking at the CAI from the ground and it is hard for a heavy rain to get inside the compartment unless SUBMERGED. It seems there is even something blocking AIR/WATER. Take a look!
