If i'm not mistaken, the pollen filter will be harder because it is behind the glove box.

Air filter should be straight forward.
Find a scan of the service manual on how to remove the filter will do.

Yes. The first time you attempt it, you'll find it to be a pain in the butt. However, the '05 is easier to do than the late model '04's. Take your time, go at it slowly and carefully so as not to break anything.
It takes me about 7-10 minutes to do my other (the wife's '05) TL. My '04 takes closer to 15 minutes.

I change both my engine air and cabin pollen filters once a year, which tends to be around 14,000 miles. So your 15,000 mile figure is pretty much in there.
Best thing to do to get a feel for when your engine air filter needs changing is to examine it. That should be your best indication.
