The aftermarket warranty.....arghhhhhh

My warranty expires next month, coincidentally my HFL died, mirror squeaks when tilting, seat warmer lights went out.
I got the level 2 warranty, according to the finance dept i got the highest one.

So the dealer called and said HFL and seat warmer lights are not covered, they can replace the mirror actuator but I need to pay $100 deductible....

then why the fuck did I buy warranty for? how do I prove they are not lying???

Should take a look at your warranty paperwork they always list everything it covers. I've never seen one cover incandescent bulbs. My guess is yours probably covers the power train (engine & trans) and some other major components.

I thought you had major issues

Anyway, HFL is the only one that will cost you. They are about 200-300 compare to the TSX which is about 800

Your mirror needs to be re-grease

Seat warmer bulb is easy to replace

Funny thing is dealer said HFL connect to their samsung S4 and S5 with no problem (i have a S4), even if it doesn't connect, it is still not covered under warranty....when I bought the car from them, they said "everything" is covered beside tires and brakes....

So your issue is that it wont connect? Can you try someone else phone i.e. family member or friend and see if theirs connect?

If it does and it works properly, then its your phone.

I suggest to you that you look over your warranty in detail

Try a different dealership

Rule of thumb - never, ever buy non-Acura Care warranty.

I would call up the company and talk to them about covering the HFL. Usually the highest level includes electronics. In the future, make sure you get an EXCLUSION POLICY. These list WHAT IS NOT COVERED. Fidelity paid over 55K worth of repairs on my 760 over the course of 5 years, it was $8-10K for the PLATINUM EXCLUSION PLAN.

I can see how the bulb is not covered, wear and tear. HFL?? That should be covered unless you damaged it. It is defective! It would have been under the 4yr bumper to bumper.

I know the German marques are expensive to maintain and repair, but this just seems over the top. And csmeance definitely wound up on the right side of that warranty purchase.

Agreed -
Over 20K alone was for coolant leaks. Google Weephole Leak and Valley Pan Leak. Another 10-15K easily for the transmission replacement plus all the other stuff they did.

That's why I'm back into a good ol' Acura. Have you contacted a vendor about a cheaper HFL replacement?
