Safety is definitely a sacrifice a user has to decide if it's worth the benefit of weight reduction and holding improvement.

These head guards make up for the side air bags though!

Haha just kidding, they just keep your head from bouncing around.

To be able to throw some recaros in would be fantastic. I wonder if some OEM recaros that already have an airbag could be swapped in.

you'd have to splice in the wires, but then the sensors might be different causing deployment during install... (funniest shit) which could yield a concusion

That could very well be a possibility. Would hate for that to happen but its just a thought.

btw I looked in the service manual and they seem to be like many other systems that run off 12v. But I still agree its probably best to not do it unless with seats designed to do so. What do you think with maybe a different oem seat by Honda/Acura though?

Those seats look like Spiderman, minus the blue and with some sort of congenital limb deformity.

Might be cool if you could get the second one to read "groom" though.

Honestly I don't know. I was just going through some ideas in my head and figured that could be one possibility. I am not familiar enough with Honda/Acura's as I was with VW's and Audi's (which pretty much had interchangable everything).

So I don't even know if there are better OEM seats in the Honda/Acura lineup. But the RSX sounds like it might be a solution. I am sure the seats are probably somewhat more supportive.

i had rsx seats in my civic
they were horrible.... put gsr leather seats shortly after...

I would think possibly s2000 seats would work nicely... but me I am going for bride's

Good luck guys! I am a little aprehensive after being saved by a side seat airbag. Stupid thing burned the crap out of me though.

I have always loved these:

The heaters would be of no use for most of the time in some states (TX perhaps). If i had a way to remove those airbags in the seat, i would already have. They are not very useful.

Can anybody vouch for a patricular Set that is comfortable when on long journeys?
I just dont want to make a mistake....

Check around, there are local race stores that should have a few that you can test out.

You don't want something that is super narrow because that will start to become uncomfortable for longer trips. You also should avoid tubular framed seats, as those tubes will start to dig into your sides after hours of driving as well.

I'm not sure yet. I'll find out this coming week when I bring the car in for them to take out the seats to see how much work is involved.

I'm putting in the blue seat in back...

Good plan. With the price of gas, you will be spending more time in your room to enjoy the Sparco than in the car.

I put this in my car, and moved my OMP Grip to my living room in front of the TV !! [joking - just a joke pic that I took while mounting my seats.]

Alright guys. PM me with your seat information (Brand, sliders, side mount, size) and I'll get back to you. They will vary in pricing but should be around $150 per side.

its funny/ironic that mike started the thread in February and now 8 months later... your "stillhere [153]" checking up on updates. but when its all said and done. please post some pics for some of us, to make us "regret" that we never signed up for the brackets.
