Add-on services from Acura

Hi all.

Anybody have opinions to share on the extra expenses they offer at purchase of a new TL? I tend to pass on all such offers, but I wonder if there's value to any of them that I should reconsider. In particular, the following:

Resist All paint and fabric protection
Autobahnd
JMA road hazard tire coverage

Thanks for any thoughts you have!

Dos

In my opnion they are a total waste of money. You can do the samething with good wax and interior protecterants. The only thing that the plans from the dealer do is relieve you of your hard earned money and put in thier pockets. By the way check out wash and wax in this form for lots of good ideas.

don't get the paint and fabric protection...I bought mine for $995 and it does not prevent me from getting scratches, which I thought it would at least help....

when you have this clear coating, you are very limited too as what you can do to clean your car (you can't use abrasive wax, etc)...

but, if it's only $200-300, it may be worth it, since it's supposed to protect your paint and fabric beyond our knowledge....

Thanks for the responses. I just picked up an 08 NBP TL-S and wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something important.

handy - they asked $500 for the Resist All service. If it doesn't prevent or repair paint chipping from kicked-up pebbles in the road, then I don't see the value. I think a nose-mask looks ridiculous, so I'll just have to deal (and not tailgate people)....

so you are saying that i would have been covered even if i didnt buy this? and you are correct, there has to be "un-drivable" damage in order for it to kick in. my step dada got this with his tsx and has already used it a few times, but i am pretty sure he would not be covered if he didnt. if you know something i dont let me know, but i didnt think my regular insurance would cover this.

ONLY things to buy from dealer:
LoJack/Mobile Guardian tracking systems
Tire/Rim Protection (cost me about 300 for my mdx, but paid itself off when hit piece of metal on road, got new rim and tire)
