Exclamation Acura Told Me.....

For those who know bout my car hydolocking... Acura told me that i need a new 02 senor and a new cat. converter. beacuse when the took off the exhaust it poored out water.. two days later when i called to see if it was done, and if they put the new parts in itm they said that they wernt going to put the 02 sensor and cat. converter into the car, unless the check engin light comes on... is it just me or does that sound wrong? a new guy at work told me that he hydrolocked his engin and that is what they replaced in his car..?????????????

sold it and possibly ruin his credit score which will hurt him for the rest of his life.....

My credit is solid even after selling my 2k3 Altima and paying off Nissan.

You only get a credit hit if you DEFAULT on your car and it gets repossesed (sp?)

I would think that if any part of the O2 sensor or cat converter is not rusted or physically damaged, it would not need to be replaced. Like the saying goes. If it ain't broke........

Water should not harm those parts.
Ever see all the water pour out of peoples exhaust after they start the engine.
I see what looks like a gallon pour out of some exhausts.

There is always a lot of condensation in the exhaust.
Only if the water was contaminated with something that poisons the catalyst
or oxy sensor would you have a problem.
