Here's something else. I sent my transmission fluid to a lab with 30k miles on my 06 AT TL. They said the metals count was high (because it was new and breaking in) and recommended changing it. I was told the maintenance minder tells you to change it at 60K miles. I called and asked if the fluid if left there till 60K miles would hurt the tranny. They said although they think my changing it was the right thing to do, it would not have harmed the tranny. I was originally concerned about the accuracy of the maintenance minder and whether to depend on it. I think honda put a lot of work and research into it and I trust it now. Check this out. The coolant is supposed to last to 100K. Everyone I spoke to said " NO WAY I WOULD LEAVE IT THAT LONG". I would be sure that if I had it anaylized it would be proven to last that long. It's nice to save money and help the environment.

YOU tell THEM what to do, not the other way around.
Like this:
"Hey Mike (uhm .... you DO know your Service Advisor by name, right???) ....
"Hey Mike, my car is due for A1 service. I'd like an Oil Change with 10W30 Full Synthetic, a New Filter, the A01 if you've got it, and a Directional Tire Rotation."
It might be a cooperative effort, but at the end of the day, YOU own the car, YOU decide on the service you want.

Uhmmm .... yeah.
And your method, you'll end up not getting pissed off when you don't get what you wanted because you thought "A1" included an Oil Filter (for example) when in fact is does not. Or that they used 5W20 Dino, when you wanted 10W30 Synthetic. How do they know if you don't tell 'em?

I am surprise nobody caught that already.
When advisor calls, I'll tell them just do the "A1" + oil filter & the other half dozen things they found.....NO, leave it.
Seriously thought, first thing after I got my car...I picked up the Acura service manual. Cause I plan to do most of the maintenance on it myself. Don't want to see new scratches or screws lefted out here & there after I get my car back from service.
Call it paranoia if you will, from past experience with NA car (it'll be my first & last). Took my grand cherokee in for tuneup, they try to paint my jeep white (I like my Jeep green better). Serice Manager refuse to take responsibility & told me to take it with my insurance. But the GM there agree with me, polished the paint off & the service mgr got spanked.

on my Chrysler irrus (dont laugh too hard) i used to change it at 3k max, but if you guys are telling me that i could change every 5-6 k (average) for my new TL thas great news, i thought it was still gonna be 3k max.

Run original oil is to 0-ish minder for break-in. Then change.
