Some of you may have read about the problems I have with the TL...and how I complained to ACS about the poor design of the all season mats.
(2005 TL)
Problems:
Headliner - sagging for 3rd time (yes I know it is an easy fix for us, but the point behind letting them deal with it is that it needs to be resolved for future owners)
Floor mat design
Rattle in sunroof visor (sunshade)
Volume button on steering wheel doesn't work
Gaps in body kid (same explanation as headliner)
Driveline vibration
I decided since I was getting nowhere with ACS over the phone, I sent them a letter.
Guess what, I rcvd a phone call back from them.. Wow it is amazing, they are actually alive over there.
Headliner - says take back to dealer but that I will have to deal with it because in the colder weather it simply wont stick that well. OK! Thats real acceptable. Then he said that they don't use superstrong glue because the headliner needs to be able to come apart in the event of an accident for the side curtain airbags. I guess that is reasonable.
Rattle: Take back to dealer and go on test drive... Ok fair enough.
Floor mats: Would consider offering repurchase if it would help me consider purchasing another acura/honda vehicle in the future. Well - an $80 repurchase is not going to help me out in that department is it? Nope. I think I made it somewhat clear that I don't care if they give me the money back - my point in that action was that the design should be looked at and it should be improved. I was trying to show that I am not a money sucking bastard who just wants a refund. I want future owners to not have the same poor design.
Gaps in body kit: no response
Volume control: Nothing, I am not concerned - dealer ordered replacement switch
Driveline vibration: (between 50-55mpg) ACS says that in the 2005 model the engineers changed the "programming codes" so the vibration occured at higher speeds. In english, please explain to me how 1. the vibration is acceptable... and 2. how the vibration can be "Reprogrammed?" I am confused.
I honestly could care less - as long as that stupid rattle is resolved everything else is fine for now. I told him that if things kept going wrong I would file under the lemon law if they do not resolve them. He attempted to seem sympathetic and wanted to resolve the issues. I rather enjoy the car, so I don't want to go that route. I want the stupid rattle and headliner fixed.... I also do not think it is too much to ask for them to resolve these stupid rattles and headliner problems for future owners... is it? I know four people who want to buy the TL and I told them to wait until honda/acura fixes the problems... then they can feel free to buy it. The TL is an excellent vehicle - but these problems should be worked out.

When you phone them, they're about as useful and helpful as tits on a door.
While tits on a door might be quite useful to you, I prefer tits to be on a person.
But vikrampatel, I feel your pain. I have had the same useless responses from ACS in the past few weeks. This is AFTER I wrote and faxed letters too. What a useless bunch.

Honestly if they treat their customers like this... i think everybody here should start writing letters to the editors of some major magazines or newspapers... like car and driver, edmunds, NY times, washington post..
enough letters and complaints they will write an editorial and acura will see the bad publicity and get their acts together... but i have a funny feeling that only a few people on the boards will be willing to write such a letter

Here in Manhattan, NYC, we have ads on basic cable at night for sex lines with Chicks With Dicks and SheMales...... all with tits! That is of course, in addition to the regular sex line and escort service ads.
So when you say 'on a person', you need to be a little more specific.
