Exclamation ABS / VSA Failure

Last night the yellow /!\ and VSA and ABS indicators all lighted up, while driving on the highway. Nothing was heard or felt, however. Pressing the VSA button did nothing.

This morning, I started the car and they were still there. Then when the car moved 10-20 feet, the familiar noise of the ABS diagnostic check was heard, and then the indicators disappeared. Things got even worst, because the ABS mechanism came online when brakes were applied at five miles per hour! Yes the rumbling, grinding and pulsating sensations were felt at the brake pedal and throughout the entire cabin. The car seemed to be struggling to stop at jogging speed! Shortly after, ALL three indicators reappeared and the brakes seemed to be functioned normally.

I'm visiting the service department tomorrow morning and will report status.

The ABS will disable itself if there's a malfunction, that's probably what you heard. I'd get it to the dealer pretty quick.

Didn't get a chance to bring it to the dealer, but the problem is gone! It might have been a software glitch.

The wet weather in the last couple of days provided a nice slippery surface to test out the VSA and ABS.

I smashed the gas pedal from standing and the VSA was doing its thing and the /!\ indicator flashed as expected. The shift from 1st to 2nd caused enough slip for the VSA to kick in again. At 80 MPH, I slammed on the brakes and the ABS did its thing, although I didn't notice any flashing indicator. Wow, what a rush!

I'm confident that the VSA/ABS is now functioning properly. Thanks for your feedbacks.

Talking Interesting testing procedures...

You know SFzip...That's "probably" NOT the way most of us would have "tested" the malfunction. I mean what happens if they had failed altogether at the 80MHP point? I suppose you had plenty of road. Glad you had fun though. Your not from around here are you?

The warning lamps came back on, so I brought it in for servicing. Bad sensor at the left rear wheel. In on Friday 8:30am--out on Saturday 3:00pm.
