A124 code labor cost? 2007 TL Type S

Does anyone know a general labor cost for code A124 from the dealer... I have all the parts but my quote in Costa Mesa CA is $1100.00. Just wanted to know if I'm getting ripped off.

thanks

You have a "4" on a 2007? You sure about that? How many miles?

Edit: Meh, 6-7 years...could be there I guess...

And also need to know what parts the dealer is replacing. For a dealer, $1100 is not terrible assuming they are also replacing the water pump and TB tensioner...and pretty darn good if that also includes a valve adjustment.

Yes I have a 2007 with 108,000 miles. I'm not sure when the A124 code came up but I got another quote from UR #1 Honda in Garden Gove for $350 for the labor. I forgot to ask about the valve adjustment but I will find out. These guys have great reviews. I will re post after I get it done.

Thanks Will for clarifying. $350 labor is very good. The timing belt is a ~6 hour job, any many dealerships are $100/hour or more, so $600 would be the lowest price I would expect to see. Here's another thread on the topic:

Post #3^^^ I have had great experience with UR #1. They only work on Hondas and Acuras. A very honest shop.

Thumbs up

Agreed... UR #1 Honda was great! The mechanic let me hang out and watch the whole job and the price was right.... will definitely recommend this shop... thanks to the guys who passed on the info, much appreciation. BTW I paid $500 for labor... timing belt, water pump, tensioner, drive belt ( I think that what it called),6 spark plugs, thermostat, oil change and tire rotation, and replacement of all fluids. I'm happy!!!
