99M3 vs 02-05NSX
I was on my way home from work today (north on I-43) going about 90 before I hit traffic, I slowed down to about 60 and notice a exotic looking car come up behind me pretty fast. As he got closer I noticed the headlights were from a 02-05 NSX, I woke up my friend (owns a 06TL, big Acura fan, as am I) and tell him about the NSX behind me, he tells me to move to the other lane to check out his nice ride. He noticed me checking out his car and gave me a thumbs up, I did the same.
As soon as traffic cleared up we got back to speed (about 80) and lined up, I assumed he was stock so I gave him about a half car jump. I quickly stopped his pull and started pulling on him and put about 2 cars by the end of 4th and shut down, he did the same (which meant he was stock and knew I was modded) we gave each other another thumbs up and went on our way.

it would be great if we can tell what year that NSX is. There are quite a few NA1 NSX's out there with NA2 exterior conversion, but there are hardly (if any) with engine swap from NA2.

NA1 NSX in North American (or may be outside of Japan) has super long/tall gear ratios. 1st gear is alright as it pulls up to around 70-80km/h (45-50mph), but 2nd gear goes all the way up to 130km/h (80mph). If I remember correctly, the 2nd gear in NA2 NSX and JDM NA1 NSX only goes up to around 115-120km/h (70-75mph). 3rd gear pulls all the way to something like 120mph or so (190km/h).
As a result, NA1 NSX, with its 3.0L engine and tall gear ratios, can only do 0-60mph in 5.2s, and 1/4 mile in 13.8@102mph (from Car and Driver). NA2 NSX on the other hand is quite a bit faster, partly due to the extra 0.2L in displacement and 20hp bump, but I think the extra gear ratio really helps. 0-60mph takes 4.8s and 1/4 mile should be done in 13s flat at 106-108mph. Huge difference in performance. And then if you go for the Type R version, 0-60mph drops to 4.4s and 1/4 mile can be done in 12.55s.
Lol, opps, sorry for going on and on about this..I just love the NSX...haha.

thanks.
From my research, it's relatively easy to do the facelift conversion as there are a few companies that sell those parts for about $5k or so. But considering a K20A (Type R engine that makes 220-225ps) is about $6k, I'd imagine a C32B engine is much more $$ than that. And good luck finding one too.

The NSX is amazing, I wish I could afford a Type R.
I was supposed to go to the strip tomorrow, but three spokes from my wheel cracked and I had to swap them with my OEM wheels. Now I cant go until next month, I should be in the mid 12s.
