80w bulb on 05 acura tl fog lights

If I install a 80w bulb as fog light when the manual says to use 51w bulb. Will
it damage anything or will I be okay?? I looked for 51w bulb and could find any
in yellow. If I install the 80w bulb do I need to install a higher watt fuse
also or no?

i have been running 6000k 80 watt bulbs in my factory fogs for about two months now and i have them on ALL the time when my headlights are on. no melting issues so far. i dont think the watts make it too much hotter. i think they simply make them a little brighter. just my

Some people just told be to buy some heavy duty harness adapter that goes connected at the end of your stock wiring and then to the new plug to keep anything from melting.

Dead wrong. A watt is a measurement of heat flux (Joules per second). Turn on two different light bulbs in your home, one at 100W, one at 50W...touch it with your bare hands, then come back and re-evaluate this statement.

they don't know what they're talking about. thats if you dont have the proper connection for the bulb itself thats not in cased in a plastic housing. If you run an 80 watt bulb be prepared to buy new headlights.

80 watts in the foggies? I ran 55W tops for a month because I had no choice, omg, the heat is immense, i took them out and put 35W Hoens, then just got a 35W 6000k hids.

The wiring will be ok, but your housing will suffer. Is it worth it? nope.. get hids.

I'm running 55w 6000K in the fogs, it that would be the absolute maximum i would want to run. They are very bright and i do get flashed on occasion. BUT, the light output is amazing and puts it right where i need it.

80w is WAAAAAYYYY too much. they will be too bright and will most definitely melt the housings.

The TL don't come with stock HID's right, what brand HID's are you running on your car and how much did you get them for?

How long have you been running that kit??? have you had any problems? So i went to the ddm tuning website, so you have to by the cables separate right. HID harness, and error eliminator? Do you know what an error eliminator is?

This will put more strain on your battery/alternator. Not worth it.
