yeah he said that it wasn't anything special... he thinks hes hot stuff because hes driving with the motor in is POS 240 lol... so hes a "big dog" with the rest of the POS's.... but not wiith me and the $30k car... lol...

same with my friend. he has a stock supercharged grand prix... he was all bragging and stuff about it "yeah it has 240hp blah blah blah" his smile faded when I told him about my 270hp (05 - hey, its the 2005 standards ).

idk if i could beat either of them.... i havent been a car guy until i got this car, so i dont know the specs for other rides... what do you guys think?

No chance.

http://www.jbskyline.net/R32/GTR/index2.php

The Engine

The R32 GT-R uses the newly introduced RB26DETT engine, a DOHC inline-6 with 24-valves and a six-throttle inlet manifold. A bore of 86mm in connection with a stroke of 73.7mm make for an overall displacement of 2568cc. A compression ratio of 8.5:1, twin T28 Garrett turbochargers and a large front-mounted intercooler help the RB26DETT produce 280hp at 6800rpm and 360Nm (260lb-ft) of torque at 4400rpm.

A compression ratio of 8.5:1, twin T28 Garrett turbochargers and a large front-mounted intercooler help the RB26DETT produce 280hp at 6800rpm and 360Nm (260lb-ft) of torque at 4400rpm. But actually this engine was directly designed for use in Japanese Group A racing, and tuned derivatives have proven to reliably run with over 550hp without need-ing any internal changes - so look at the tuning-part to really see what this engine is capable of.

Wait nevermind, I just saw you said he has the four cylinder motor.

The R32 Skyline also had lower end models, one with a 1.8L motor (CA18i [GXi]) and another with a 2.0L motor (RB20DET [GTS])

The CA18i motor found on the GXi R32 is weak 91bhp and the GTS R32 is better but still weak, 155bhp and 132Tq.

That makes absolutely no sense though, why would the kid get a motor swap for a smaller motor, why would he want less displacement? I doubt there is much aftermarket for a RB20DET, but who knows.

All info taken from:

yeah man, I have no idea... its a POS car to begin with.... white with dents, scratches, nasty factory black rims and horrible interior

idk why he didnt just save his money for a decent car.... idk how many valves he has, but, he just said its the 2.0 liter... so im assuming thats correct... my cavalier had a 2.0 liter LMAO....

thanks for the info man!

are you sure its a skyline motor and not a silvia motor? ... like a sr20det? thats the most common swap for 240's and the sr20det just happens to come with about 200 hp stock

he could have a sr20det....if it worked then u dont have a chance stock maybe...but then it also depends on the model of the sr20...if its a red top or black top...and the year makes a difference 2...

Yeah that's what I'm thinking, I think he has the SR20DET, because the RB20DET wouldn't make any sense. I bet the retard in the 240 probably has no idea what he has, and just says its a Skyline motor, idiot.

Well my guess is it's a SR20DET and those are turbocharged and have lot's of potential, let us not forget it was featured in the Fast and Furious 3.

I agree to the SR20DET.
I think 240SX can be a real nice car when modded correctly.

this is really confusing lol! could it be a RB20DET? did he say whether its 6 cyl or 4? the RB20DET is a turbocharged inline 6. you can also find that engine in a skyline GTS-t. That engine has 215hp, which is close to the number your friend is claiming. if thats so, then it might be pretty fast too.

No the RB20DET is the 4cylinder, the RB25DET is what you're thinking of, that's 6cylinder twin turbo inline-6.

Oh yep you're right sorry, but yeah there are so many variations of the Skyline motor, there is the RB20DE the RB20DET (turbo) and then they have the RB25DET (turbo). If he has either of the turbo motors you're done for.

yea, without that site, I wouldn't be so sure myself about the number of cylinders in the RB20DET!

fantom_TL, try taking a few pics of his engine and post them here, we might be able to figure out!

lol... skyline or not, i wouldnt want to steal the car... too much power (which im surprised hasnt happened yet) would loosen the rusted bolts and the junker would probably fall apart. lol

You have a chance if its stock and he doesnt launch that well. My friend has an R33 Skyline and we raced last week up to 90 last week and he didnt pull on me and I didnt pull on him we were dead even. The car is hard to launch cause of the turbo lag on a stock turbo but I think if we kept going past 100 he would of eventually pulled harder. 1st and 2nd gear in his car atleast is tough..I always tease him Honda is better than Nissan

Well, if the powertrain is in the same shape as the body then you could have a chance.

I say it's a drivers race. He might F* it up big time while shifting or launching and you'd smoke 'em! I say race anyways, and take a vid so we can all see!

i doubt you have a chance if its a skyline motor? what year is his silvia? those cars with the sr20det swaps are no joke. i ran a few when i had my rsx which was all motor and those motors have crazy low end power. well go race him and tell us what happens.

yeah but youre in a family sedan and he is in a sports car. Just remember not all RB motors are created equal but once modded they can become absolute monsters.

well... i saw him last night... thing sounds beastly, but thats cuz his muffler fell off and he cut the rest LOL... i asked him what the engine was... he said it was the V6 turbo, but in order to get it in the engine bay, he had to make a huge dent in the firewall... he said that with the turbo he should get 214 HP... which was kinda weak sounding to me... a turbo should do alot beetter. he spent $1400 on it

i said he might as well just put it towards a new car, but he said that speed wasnt his ultimate goal....

i guess it should go fast, he reduced the weight a TON... the sides to the doors fell off, the counsol is all ripped up and his back seats rusted off... LOL so who knows... maybe hes a threat....

V6? do you mean inline-6? Because the RB's are all inline. anyways, 214hp, that's pretty weak!

man i wont lol... its all tore up on the inside... he took out his air vents for some knock off gauges.... idk why he would need those.... but everything is to shit... i told him to just save the 1400 and buy a new car lol... even a cavalier would be a better choice then suping up a beat up 240 lol

heres the deal uve gota a chance if he only has boltons like exhaust, intake he should be puttin some where around 200 or so to the wheels maybe a lil bit more the the rb20det is the weakest of the skyline engine but still capable of A LOT of power the problem ud have against him would be weight!!! thats what makes the swap so popular!power to weight ratio... he has an advantage but if u can drive better then thats what it could boil down to! his car would prolly be best fitted to drift im sure he could definitely burn some tires up nut not much more with what u described!
