5AT Premature down shifts problem?

Regarding 2005 TL Navi 5AT:

Has anyone experienced strange down shifting problem when stepping on the gas not in the SS mode?

When I知 in the 4th gear and step on the gas, it down shifts prematurely or too soon, and short. Then it feels like I知 loosing power.

Do you mean "up-shifts?" Downshifting would be desireable and would give you more power.

It downshift prematurely at low rpm.

So it shifts from 5 to 4, for example, when you try to accelerate?

I went out and drove around.
This is what happens:
I'm on the 4th, press the gas, it downshifts to 3rd, before the rpm picks up, it upshifts back to 4th. this happens very quick.

Push harder on the gas. I think the transmission is confused and thinks you want a lower gear, then since you don't have your foot on the gas hard enough, it shifts back to 4th gear. If you want to hold the downshift, you've got to put your foot in it.

Definatly worth a trip the dealer. It seems that that would be preferable. The good news is that is probably a software error, if its not supposed to be there, so its something they can easily fix, with no taking stuff apart.

So, it would seem this is a premature upshift problem, not downshift. It downshifts just fine but then upshifts at too low an RPM for what you're trying to do. I'd have the dealer look at it.

How fast are you travelling when this happens?

It supposed to downship when you jam on the gas. It also always tries to upshift whenever practical for better gas mileage.

I want to see if my new '05 does this.

normal. You hit the gas to the metal while at 4th, it'll shift to 3rd trying to accelerate at a higher RPM. Suppose you let go the gas pedal right after than, the computer should let go the RPM and shift into 4th. Assuming you keep your foot on the gas pedal still, it should keep it at 3rd and try to hit that high rpm then shifts for you.

Abnormal bro.
"I'm on the 4th, press the gas, it downshifts to 3rd, before the rpm picks up, it upshifts back to 4th. this happens very quick."

I never let the gas pedal go.
