Has anyone tried (or felt they needed to) upgrade the 5AT brakes to the brembo's? There are few things on a car that a value over _really_ good braking.

If that's the case, then I'd spend the money on tires other then the EL42s. They are the weak link in the braking, not the calipers.

I haven't felt the need yet, but it couldn't hurt, along with a tire swap.

I also feel the need to upgrade the brakes. Do you know the cost?

I read somewhere, that the Brembos will not work on the 5AT models due to sizing/offset considerations. I may be wrong.

If you purchase the A-spec package, part of the deal on teh 5AT is that you get the Brembos. They should fit. You were misinformed/became confused somewhere. But you've just been set straight

It probably means you cannot just add the Brembo calipers directly into 5AT without modifying your brake system and other stuff... you also need the bigger spare tire, too.

I thought it just included the Brembo pads, but not the 4-piston calipers.

I even doubt they're Brembo's pads. Those so-called high performance pads are smaller than Brembo's... they look identical to 5AT's, except the red lines over the edges.

KilroyR1 is right.
You don't get Brembo's with the Automatic, you only get upgraded brake pads, Brembo's won't fit on Auto.

On the A-spec package all you get is performance pads not brembo calipers.

Here is a quote from the Edmunds review...

Automatic A-Spec cars also get high-performance brake pads to help make up for the fact that they don't get the Brembo front brakes like the six-speed TLs do (due to packaging constraints).

Well that is one heck of a screw job. I could put on high performance brake pads on my own without droping a few G's on the A-spec!
