Hey guys just wondering what the difference was between the 3rd Gen headlights and the 4th Gen was. My mom has a 2012 TL Tech and I have an 07 base and driving her car I can tell that the headlights move around more on the road than mine do. Almost as if they were the adaptive headlights, but they aren't if that makes sense. Any answers?

 

Maybe your HID bulbs are getting old and need replacing? Her HID bulbs are only 2 years old compared to yours which are 7 years old (if they are still original)

 

they dont move, i can guarantee you that. if they are moving then something is loose lol

 

The only differences between them is your tl has bi xenon it has a shield moving and out for high/low beam mode, meanwhile your mom does not have that option instead it lit the DRL as high beam, Acura tl doesn't have adaptive head lamp, the only Acura possess that tech

Not reallynsure what you mean it seems like they move. It's just a HID projector similar to what's in your TL, with the exception that yours has the bixenon feature for high beams which the 4G TL's did not get. Like mentioned maybe your bulbs are just getting old and maybe it's effecting output and beam pattern a bit. Maybe your possibly seeing a sharper cutoff on the 4G making it appear that they are moving more since you see that distinct line. If yours aren't sharp there are mods you can do to make it razor sharp ie.. ZkW-r clear lenses.

 

I see what you're saying. It may be that hers have a sharper cutoff than mine. Another reason being that my headlights are a little cloudy and need to be redone could be another factor that is going into it. Thanks for the answers guys!

 

I believe the 3G projectors give a sharper cutoff.


yeah, i nor did any one else get what you mean by they move...
they arent supposed to move and if they are moving, something is wrong.

 

It could be your headlight need to be recondition as well after all it's alot older than your mom TL.
