3rd break light cover

My third break light cover is not sealed tightly. At night you can see the red light leaking out the sides. The rubber edges do not line up on the window. Is there any fixes for this, I want to get my windows tinted, but would like this fixed first.

When you get them tinted, they should remove the cover if they do the job right. Just tell them you have light leaking and they can put some filler, like weatherstripping or something else I am sure they have for this situation, before they out the cover back on.

I had a new third brake light cover put on my car because the cloth was coming off and making it look like there were air bubbles. There was some brake light leakage as well, so I took a strip of felt tape and applied it to the rubber sides of the cover. This helped seal the brake light from the driver's side.

That's the stuff I was trying to think of.

I should mention that I applied it to the side of the rubber stripping enclosed by the third brake cover so you cannot see it from inside the car. You really can't see it from OUTSIDE the car either because of the little black dots printed on the glass in that area.
