3G TL Vs. Current TSX....
...Saw them side by side at a local parking lot and was amazed to find that the TSX was as big or bigger in every dimension. To my eyes, it looked nicer too. This was particularly impressive due to the fact that the 3G TL was/is a very nice looking car. The TSX just looked more purposeful, more aggressive. I know in the engine dept. it's no contest with the TL running a six and the TSX limping along with a four banger.
But if looks and road presence were the only deciding factors I'd take the TSX hands down.

I had a 2010 TSX for a loner when i had my TL in at the dealer and it was JUNK!!! The auto CVT tras felt like crap, the int felt cheap, and your right it just felt big and slow! It looks great but i would never buy one!
I'm a huge fan of the 2G TSX. The only thing I'm worried about is the size, I'm used to driving the larger TL.
Plus with all of the little shit here and there with my TL like the cracking dashboard and constant rattles, I'm not sure I want to buy another Acura.

I like almost everything about the new TSX except the fact that there is a Wagon version out there, also the Euro Accord looks completely identical. And last but not least, the interior buttons are way too much cramped up. The exterior is exquisite, looks beautiful because it follows on the design path of the 3G TL.
One of the thing i hated the most about the inside of the TSX, The radio volume button is that tiny one on the top by the screen and the big one was tune... how stupid is that! When you go to reach for volume you always go for the big one. Also the dash material is cheap feeling and looking but hey i bet it wont crack like ours!
I agree as the 2nd gen tsx replaced the 3gtl. They are almost the same size but i like the interior of 3gtl more. Its use of real aluminum on dash/doors goes a long way to the luxury/utilitarion touch in the TL. Come to think of it, does the G4 TL use real metal trim? It doesn't look like it.
The new TSX V6 sounds like an awesome car. Wouldn't mind one but the interior did seem a lot smaller when I sat in one. Doesn't look as refined as the 3G or 4G TL's interior. Wish I could take a TSX exterior and put it on a 4G TL SH-AWD. What an amazing car that'd be.
It has been my experience after having 2 3G TL's and multiple loaner 2G TSXs that the seats in the TSX are much more firm then those in the 3G TL! Just my observation.

Yeah the seats are pretty stiff in the new Acuras. I think the RL is an exception. I feel like its intentionally part of the "sport" feel though. For example, ever sit in a C63 AMG's seat? Bring a pillow to sit on.
i love the 3g TL no doubt...but i did get a chance to drive the new 4cyl TSX which actually wasnt bad but timing was perfect last october when the new V6 TSX rolled off the truck and the lady gave it to me as a loaner...unbelievable power, despite the crazy torque steer and the gas mileage wasnt too bad for 280 h.p...then again, it costed $36k at the time. I dont like the wheels on the 4cyl TSX but the ones on the V6 are pretty sick. I might actually put those on the TL...hmmm
I was only referring to the 2G TSX. The 4G TL on the other hand had much more comfortable seats then the 3G TL does, especially with the upgraded/softer perforated leather in the tech package.
Agreed. Firm seats can also be comfortable. I don't like having to brace myself around hard corners. A little extra seat support is welcome as far as I'm concerned.
The TSX has always been the Euro Accord. And it is about time a Wagon version shows up here. Absolutely love the wagon versions of several cars. Much better for those of us that would like the extra space and functionality of a sport-ute, without being stuck in a sport-ute.
Earlier this year I drove a brand spankin new 2G TSX tech as a loaner and it was a very nice car. I've also been thinking that a TSX (probably the 3G) will replace my 3G TL. A friend has a 1G TSX w/6MT and that car is a blast to drive. The four banger does pretty well in both the 1G and 2G.
The 2G TSX seems to be only a little smaller than the current TL. Looks-wise, I still like the TL's looks better, but it is starting to look a little bit dates, especially with all the creases and shapes in the TSX's body. The TSX is more of an eye-catcher for sure.
I remember the TL's interior being praised as one of the best on the market, and if the 3G were on sale today, it probably still would be. I've got the same complaints as everyone else, too many buttons, but I guess it's functional
I just wish the V6 was available with a 6MT. That would be my dream Acura. It's annoying how the TSX is available with a 6MT only if you get the smaller 4cyl, but to get an MT on the TL you have to opt for SH-AWD. There's nothing in the 280 horse range with a 6MT, which I think is a bit of a flop on Acura's part.

Have both cars. 3G TL feels more solid, more powerful, more comfortable and you won't notice it till you own it but there are minor features that they omitted out of the TSX that you ask yourself WTF was Acura thinking.
For example though the keys are linked to driver 1 and driver 2, the only thing that it remembers is seat position. You still have to adjust the side mirrors yourself. Isn't that the annoying part? Why would they omit that?!!??!
This is just one example. Many more. The 3G TL still IMO much better in luxury and sport.
