Well, they are a must given the winters here. So, it makes sense to put in the $$ for them.

We were able to negotiate down about $2000 from the MSRP because I have an account via some Canuckian invoice pricing site, Carcostcanada. It's not bad...I paid like a few bucks and it provides me 10 reports which I haven't used up since I joined nearly 8 years ago. It has helped me significantly in negotiating both my cars' (FX and MINI) prices. And obviously, helping my Mom here for hers.

Still have a couple reports left. Save it for when I seriously look into replacing the MINI...next late-summer/early-fall...Allroad or C-Class wagon.
