gonad is a ball, some pee pees have a purple helmet or some have a hood, and some are just straight up from the hood

BUT, pee-pees are NOT flat. A hood is a flat surface.

And pee-pees are not made of carbon-fiber or metal.

Question for you smart people...
what are the implications of running a car with no cabin filter? Leaves hitting your face here and there if they make their way through?
I did pull the super awesome upgraded one I put in the car out and it's very obvious how much more air I feel blowing in my face. Anyone ever just buy a cheap blue filter and cut it to size? The wound fiber one.

Or just run without...
Otherwise I'm going back to cheap paper one.

I'm probably not the smart people you're looking for, but I don't think it'll be a huge issue. I believe that filter tries to keep the circulated air in the cabin a little cleaner, but go back just a few generations (well, that is to say the last cars I've owned) and a cabin air filter wasn't even a thing.

At worst, you *might*get some larger grit into the squirrel cage fan and it *might* wear out sooner... But probably not.

If you're okay without having a charcoal filter for "fresher" air, and don't have or ming some little bits of crap blowing out the ducts, go for it.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, this car is the first I've had with a cabin filter, and it's the first that I don't get pelted with sand when I blast the AC in the summer to cool down the car in the afternoon. I guess maybe it does do something.

A clogged filter has the potential to burn out the blower motor, if I'm not mistaken.

As cul0 pointed out, not having one shouldn't be a big deal. At the very worst, you might have a leaf get stuck somewhere in one of the vent pipes. I imagine the odds of that happening are pretty small though. You have the chance for a bit more dust in your cabin. Go back to pre-2000, and no cars had cabin filters, so I wouldn't stress about it.

Personally, I just use the oem Honda filters. Cheap enough and last long enough. I didn't know people used other stuff. If you want more air coming through, then yeah, use the wound fiber one. I don't think the cabin filters are even that good at cleaning the air, when it comes to tiny particles, however, I've never looked into their MERV rating, so I could be wrong.

I think it was J (or maybe that asshole Maj) that said the same thing about the super MERV rating on home AC filters... Eventually, you get such a fine filtration that you choke the airflow and burn out the motor.

Sort of simplistic to think of it this way, but if Honda designed their system to use XYZ filter, then that's maybe what should be in there. Go to a finer filtration and the motor may work harder, you'll get less airflow, but it'll be cleaner. Go to a coarser filtration and the motor will work less hard, you'll get the same (or maybe slightly more) airflow, but it'll be dirtier.

It was Maj when i was asking about my home's A/C before purchasing.
