I don't watch the road either. I watch other cars and the hot chicks driving them instead

There's a 280z that doesn't run either and has a lot of rust... asking $6000, firm!
I've got a '74 260zx parked out back, Back in the day they adapted a Holly 4BBL to it, I put in a new radiator and a Mallory coil, A couple years ago I had it running... I hang on to it because I have delusions of putting a modern engine (I waffle between a LT1 for raw straight line power, or something smaller and lighter so I can set it back further for turning corners) in it and turning it into a "screw comfort, just make it go f-ing fast" car.

Floorboards are a little rotten (carpeting got wet) but the body is in pretty decent shape for a 42 year old car. Interior is a total mess, had raccoons living in it for a while.

If anyone is serious about wanting it, I'll pull it out of the weeds and take a closer look at it... at the $6500 price range for a non running example, maybe $7500 for running? I might be persuaded to deliver it even!

Oh, and on the subject of "distracted driving"... years ago when I was in the Army I was on a road trip with some friends... two cars, my buddy and his girl in a truck, and since it was the slow vehicle the freak I was dating and I were following.

Well, long, slow, and boring... she decided to try the "BJ on the interstate" trick. All was good, I was staying away from other cars, hanging back but keeping up... she decided that my pants were in the way... set the cruise control, take one leg off... and all of a sudden, my buddy hits the exit ramp... FUG! So not I'm trying to do a lane change, slow down to exit speed, put my pants on, and explain to the freak why I stopped her.

Good times. Damn she was fun to play with... too bad she was so psychotic... I might have married her.

I'm just browsing to see if there is much available for these. I'd like to pick one up one day and restore it. I can understand having rust, but as long as there isn't 6" holes everywhere, it's all good. I too would make it a modern day speed demon and likely put some kind of turbo Nissan engine in.

3.0 L VG30DETT V6 from a 1990 - 1996 300zx would be my pick.... lots of aftermarket parts there. A friend had one that he said made 500+ RWHP on the dyno, bigger turbos, flashed the computer, didn't even get into the short block... pushing a 1000 lb lighter car, it might be a little scary.

Here's one taken to the extreme (wish I knew what his setup was, all it says is V8 4WD):

id rather go the way of a skyline engine. It's easy to get my hands on one here. 3.0 V6 is too big/heavy to handle well in such a car

I donno... my thought was always to shove it back as far as I could... maybe even move the firewall. I-6 doesn't lend itself the best for that, the V6 makes more power stock, and I know there's an aftermarket performance part market, but who knows if it would even fit between the strut towers?

In any case they've always reminded me of the Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe, or the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO... both good looks... add a bit of modern tech to the 260z and I'll bet you $34.50 that it would better them.
