Civil E.. too many.. can't throw a cat without 10 fools building purrniture for it before it lands.
Civ is great politically. Civ E is great to get some pussy in school as well, fine ass babes studied Civ E at my school. It was only like a 20:1 ratio too
Otherwise, unless you're in a rich growing metropolis.. well.. I do know many Civs who make a very good living though.

I tried to do civil or electrical engineer but my business undergrad was gonna be worth chad and I'd have to start over. It took me 4 years alone to get that whilst getting life experience and being a step dad to my ex's kids...
so I opted to stick with Marketing degree and it's served me well...not directly applied but it did help me see the world in a broader spectrum and think about marketing everything, including myself, in a broader context.

@ Berkeley. Yeah, that was okay by them...or Stanford. USC too. U-Dub in Washington was fine too if we were talking about west coast. But, yeah...they had a thing for east coast skoos.

But, my Dad figured out the race card pretty early in his life here. He always said, "If you are gwai lo, it does not matter if you get Arts degree from Community College. But, you CHINEE. You go to good skoo or they no hire you!"

Then, I got beat.

I joke a bit about it, but the underlying message is that, my old man had it really hard here in NA...he moved here pure and simple for us for a better life. And health-care as I was not the most healthy growing up.

I get why he preached and nagged what he did. Looking back now, the hardships he put up trying to find employment...F*cked up. Simply because he was .

My first physics professor was an old chinese guy.. worked on the manhattan project.
They were racist and accused him of treason because of his race. He's very patriotic, god fearing man.. very good guy.
Anyways, he told me something that has cemented in me and will pass on to whoever is willing to listen.

Math is like money, the more you have, the more places you can go

I had a TA for stochastics who lived the same way. For every engineering course, he took two math courses.
I was like, how you so good at this shit mang???? (he white too)

Advanced calculus and physics were the courses in college that eventually got to me. But, I'll also admit that when I took them, I was more interested in -ing and fooling around than studying. Not sure if I applied myself better if I would've done better.

Anyways. That was not a shining moment in my old man's eyes.

Honestly, IDGAF what somebody does for a living, as long as it's not illegal and as long as they actually enjoy what they do. I never look down at the laborers working on site... They might be the lowest paid and lowest on the totem pole, but they likely have skills I don't, or have work ethic I could only dream of.

If you have a job you enjoy, you're able to put food on your table, able to save some and have a bit of fun in life, who gives a fuck about your salary or title.

It's funny how the dialogue is King, in his twilight, trying to grasp what life has left
and NDGT rationalizing what is to happen, and what a life worth living is all about
I always felt that I wanted to make the world better than I was given it.
At least not make it worst.. One day.. after the V.

And deep in mirrors
They rediscover
The face of the boy as he practices trying
His father’s tie there in secret

And the face of that father,
Still warm with the mystery of lather.
They are more fathers than sons themselves now.
Something is filling them, something

That is like the twilight sound
Of the crickets, immense,
Filling the woods at the foot of the slope
Behind their mortgaged houses.

I meant while in school

Majofo is right- there were more girls in CivE. I think maybe up to 15-20% were girls. But only some of them were lookers. That never stopped me

Glasses. Black hair. Talk like ching-chong-chang-chong-ching. And ate smelly rice and fish dishes in the labs.

I like Civil Engineers. They build great targets. The best targets really. All the best targets were built by Civil Engs.

And yes, I was THAT guy. And I purposely spoke with a horrid Chinee accent.
