Removing the pulley bolt was a bitch, trying not to fuckup the pulley and keep it straight while the thing spews left over PS fluid in my apartment. Had to bring it in, 38F outside gets cold on the fingers.

Removing the housing, the pump completely disassembled itself because of suction. Exploded in all the tiny pieces which I had to put back in their respective position. Cool little surprise puzzle, in turn that totally made me forget to do one seal, the one with the 10mm allen. Not likely to be as much of an issue, if it is, I'll just remove the pump again next weekend or something.

In retrospect, I should have bought an inlet hose bolt because mine is rusty and it's getting rounded.

Overall took a bit less than 2 hours, 30 minutes of which was due to the surprise puzzle solving and cleaning the pump. Fucking PS fluid, that shit is slippery.

BUT

My power steering is back in full force now. Too cold to change the hose, so that'll go next year.

Edit: Housing seal was clearly the main culprit. That thing was less than half the new one thickness and was brittle AF.
Good job, man! I'm wondering if I should look into doing mine. I don't THINK it's leaking, but I haven't looked at it since I bought the car. I'm sure it can't hurt, with it being almost 10 years old now.

You'll know if it's time just like you'll know when it's not time. Just make sure it's for the right reasons. I know people that are like "well, I gotta start having kids because my mom is pressuring me..." And I'm just like "fo real?'

Until then, just enjoy the practice!

Mine definitely has never been serviced. When I first changed the inlet o-ring, I feel like this one has been done but that was the extent of the previous owner troubleshooting. My whole PS pump was full of grime and so was my reservoir because of PS fluid mist. If yours is sparkling, no reason to do it.

I know I can still do whatever with kids around, like another degree, but like you said- it just gets that much harder to do. If I feel like I need something more in life, it'll be a talk with Wifey, for sure. But until then just gotta do what makes us happy!

And no family pressure here either. My parents got their grand kids from my bro. Wifey's parents are split. She's close with her dad, even though he's 10,000km away, but he's all ok without us not having kids. She doesn't talk to her mom, so no pressure there either.

I don't think so. He's been warned. He might end up banned if he does. I guess time will tell and we'll see what the mods will let slide. If he does start a new one, let the ridicule begin!!

And by the way, that party sounded fucking brutal. No liquor? People don't need to get trashed, but it always helps people loosen up a bit and have more fun. Otherwise it's just a bunch of dudes playing video games. That's not a party.

I was watching the Seahawk Cards game.. Now I'm watching the news while surfing Azine, Cars.com, putting pictures on a disk. Coughing up a lung and hearing my wife complain about not feeling well.

Both kids are sleep... me time.....

Accord sport is cooking. The price not so much. Damn California...

I don't miss those non sleeping nights. I told my wife with the second, if you want to stay at home you gotta wake up with him. My first one liked to sleep during the day and be up all night. The second one sleeps through the night from 8 PM - 730 AM daily. If he misses nap or bed time he will let you know by screaming and getting all cranky.

No pressure

Taco was like.. eff dogs.. now he's a dog person. Just sayin'
Baby fever izz fooo real.. and that bullshit about being established.. there's never a perfect time to have kids. One of my best brosefs had a honeymoon pregnancy.. twins.

Just when he quit his cush job to start med school and his wife finishing her PhD in CE. She finally did her defense and is just a couple of formalities from finishing (2+ years later). He's in his 3rd year now, doing clinicals, OBGYN this month.. how ironic.

Twins are happy and healthy. It has been quite the journey for them. Fighting the university for non lapsing family coverage to medicaid and welfare (yep, two advanced degree engineers). But if there's a will, there's a way.

Anyways, the twins are 2 going on 3. Wife will be looking for work and he killed the MLE step 1, so he pretty much has his pick of residencies. It was definitely a rough start to their marriage, but they made it. That's the extreme, so if parents can make it with nearly nil, two well-to-do parents who both have good jobs have a huge advantage already (*cough*taco*bleh*).

Make sure tacowifey not repressing thoughts of baby, especially with friends having newborns.. no regrats. Like I said.. just sayin'

I took in y'alls wisdom re: children. I'll remember it, and I won't front that I pretend to know anything about it. But I'll tell you Jeremy, that if I did find the right woman, I might actually be asking you homos for baby names.

Ha, definitely not, I just happened to finish it this weekend. There was a ton of other shit that I did at the same time which caused this project to drag on for weeks (not to mention work travel and other social responsibilities). timing belt (and all the shit with it), all engine mounts, valve adjustment, ps pump rebuild, intake manifold/throttle/runner cleaning, egr cleaning, xlr8 torque damper, changed mtf, brake and clutch fluid. there's probably more but yeah.

still need to change the axles, install aspec suspension, and some other parts. I'm just stoked to be driving the car again after probably almost 6 months of motorcycles and travel.
