Lightning is scary. Especially when you're up a pole.

Since I had a baby 2.5 months ago work threw me a luncheon with a bunch of Mexican food.
Now I wait for the Mexican stripper named Juanita.

Yea. Taken in Honduras a couple of years ago. PBR was cheaper than water there and that's an authentic cuban straight from Havana.

so...I'm working the last ticket of the day...rural AF, cows and shiet everywhere. Thunderstorm starts rolling in fast...I'm like, fk it, let me get this done quick since it was already going to make me late back to the office without waiting for a storm to pass.
Take old device off pole, hurry hurry...I see the lightning and thunder kinda getting closer. What makes me uneasy is I'm in a field and the pole is the tallest thing with a fkng LCOM antenna sticking off the top of it. Put new one up...after getting the antenna cable on but not the ground wire or power cord I see lightning out of the corner of my eye very close and immediately feel hear see some fkng thing spark at the device in my hand, maybe across the lines to the ground wire that was very near it's mounting point. Needless to say I was down that ladder and in the truck in about 1 second. It happened so fast...did I make it up?
Still drizzling...fk it, lightning passed...finish install. The device is dead...which is NEVER the case. That just confirmed what I thought...it got fried in my hands from the lightning. I don't want to know what a direct hit feels like, that is for sure.
I just kept thinking, you should have come back to this one on a clear day.
Fk that, I'm getting new batteries for my lightning detector. I'm also going to refuse to work a ticket if there's lightning anywhere nearby.
I know. CSB.
