LOL...funny, I recognized all the stolen bits but loved the beat and how it came together. Very DJ Quik etc...

Hmmm...if it drops in to the 20s after the new body style...that would put it within range! But given how rare the V's are starting to V (within reason)...I wouldn't be shocked if the well maintained ones DO hold their value and see an increase.

That is an amazingly specific rant.

You wanted to build a double sided, vibrating dong also, didn't you? Damn patents...

But it's still a GM product. At some point there should be a cliff when everything starts going to shit. If you're handy and like working on cars (hmmm...) that would be the optimum entry point. Pick up a box, work out all the electrical gremlins, overhaul the motor, replace the tranny (heh) and good to go.

Or just keep saving and get a RLX which will be worth twenty eleven billions, upgrade the tires and be superman.

That's what big business does. When companies get bought, a big factor is their patent portfolio. My bro filed 49 patents last year. Fucking beast mode. We get a nice bonus on each too..

If it's joe shmoe filing a patent, it's not worth it to him unless he licenses it or puts it into production. Nobody has 40k to file, and another +100k to sue, if it does get utilized (and they find out about it). Plus you need to renew. Fuck that shit.

btw Vlad, we should be patent officers. I'm pretty sure we could do this as private consultants for big silicon, make even more moolah.

RLX it is!

I'll just wait for Majofo to have 5 kids and trade the V in on an 07 Odyssey. He'll have worked out the kinks on his by then.

Land Rovers are one of the biggest pieces of shit ever produced. I wouldn't even joke about that.

Acura is right above it though.

I think rockstar might have offended me, but I'm not sure.

Maj, you cannot honestly say you intend to keep the V out of warranty do you?

He plans on driving it until the wheels fall off. Which coincidently will happen just after the warranty ends

Yeah, I mean a GM out of warranty is like rawdogging a daytime stripper. Sure, you might be the *one* person that's the exception, but chances are that you'll regret it when stuff starts leaking and cracking open.

Engine/transmission likely won't. Electronics might start developing some gremlins.

Majofo made the timing belt thread. He can fix the GM with his eyes closed.

Well.. the V has a 6 yr / 70k mile powertrain warranty. The supercharger has a 120k mile warranty, which includes the engine if it fails and damages it. The LSA seems to be a workhorse, no issues, same with the 6L80. Several guys are putting down 700-800 whp without a single hiccup, DD.

The dealer I bought from also backed the V with a lifetime powertrain warranty for as long as I own it. I wrapped it in a bumper to bumper for an add'l 3 years (no mileage restriction) after the original warranty expires.

I'm not worried.

Plus it's a freaking LSx with a Eaton blower and a GM trans. Dime a dozen.
I'll just go down to Mexico if I need a new one.

so you basically insured the hell out of it to NOT be worried because you must have been worried.

So you paid not to worry. Nothing wrong with that.

I still want one...

Meh, maybe you're right. I suppose it's possible that my anecdotal sample set is biased because of the typical market segment that buys a GM. Maybe I think they're shit not because the vehicle is shit but because 95% of the buyers are incompetents.

I guess I just don't care enough to, well, care about it anymore. I concede the point.

Justin, just an old school mentality that all domestics will have catastrophic failure cheap interiors and electronic gizmos. all of which are backed with zero fact or experience in the last decade.

Hmmm...Toyota stuck accelerators on the other hand...and I can provide a LONG list of failures on my 12 year old Honda (known for being trouble free and basically maintenance free).

Your opinion about the V doesn't float, this isn't your grandpa's northstar caddy, talk about a nightmare (+12 hr engine + trans drop book time).

btw.. the TL had rear and front main seal leak, vtec solenoid leak + oil pan leak + axle seal (both sides).

Best thing about the TL was I always got to work on her.
I put the V on ramps.. fucking sketchy, not doing that again.. anyways.. it was fucking clean.

Yeah, that's the unknown. It's not overengineered, but it has a lot of sensors. I'm not worried about the electricals though.

Not true. I've had friends with regular CTSs that had the power seats shit the bed, nav shit the bed, etc. but keep in mind, I don't think this is in anyway exclusive to GM. Manufacturers keep cramming more and more electronic gizmos into cars that endure endless bumps and vibrations on the daily, plus all kinds of climates. The shit just doesn't last.

Honda/Acura was once known for being the ultimate in reliability... But that was when a Honda/Acura was considered "optioned out" when it had power locks/windows/sunroof. I sincerely miss the simpler days, when it comes to cars.

I don't think cu2 is out-of-line, any econo shitbox is going to have issues because they cut corners. LSx builds have years of great engineering, which means great products (usually) and lots of support. I'm not worried.

I only paid a few bills for the wrapper warranty, all the powertrain coverage was free. I got a steal otherwise.. :thief:

I will say that I felt like I was wrapped in a warm snuggly wool security blanket though. In a axe murdering rocket ship.
