How does one actually remove personal info from the internets? There are all sorts of search pages that give "approximate" addresses and such. But I've used them get all the info of people I hate. But I'm pretty sure I'm the only one in America with my name so if you google it you pretty much get my entire life story.

You can't. Once it's out there, it's there indefinitely. There are main databases that companies interface. It's a log of everything you do, from looking at cats on reddit to pussy on redtube. FB, Google, are just a slice of the pie. You can cancel all social networks to keep the trolls from digging, but if someone really wants your info, they can get it. Not just that, but your family too. I mean even if you did cancel or mask your social identity, someone's door is going to be open.
