The only time I couldn't get a price match was when a set of tires came with a $70 mail-in-rebate when ordered through TR.

I've always found Tire Rack has the best prices. I've also found that local tire shops are usually able to price match Tire Rack, so I try to do that.

I'll do my due dilligence and check out both.

also tires on discount tire are a little more $$$ and tirerack they are cheaper but they charge shipping....
back in the days, discount tire direct would match tirerack and still give free shipping....
I have a hookup at firestone and she just matches tirerack prices on the tires...installs everything for free since I buy tires there and only charges me the old tire recycle fee (like 10 bucks) and I add $20 of lifetime rotate and balance...cant beat that price

Franch, wait for a major weekend like black Friday or 4th of July...most of the manufacturers will offer a rebate of some kind, mail in and such. They figure you will forget, but I never do. Also, you can call them and ask if they could knock a few bucks off once you're a loyal customer. I've gotten some killer deals.
Okay, since I'm sharing. True DTD story here.
had a badly balanced set of tires. Ended up with cupping on some tires I bought from DTD...5 months later, I called them and told them I had cupping, they gave me a full refund with agreement to replace with another set from them. Which I did...they paid for the new ones to be shipped to me as well as the defective (I thought the cupping was my vibration rather than the bad balance having caused the problem) ones shipped back to them...they sent me my next ones that picked and they were too wide for the how low and close to fender I was...told them, they paid for shipping of THAT set back to them again and then sent me the correct size for free.
That's insane...they made a customer for life.

Good customer service goes a long way with me so I'll keep that in mind. I definitely have some time but no major holidays or black Friday before I purchase. I'll need them before snowfall which will probably be in like 2 months up here in the Bean
Currently redownloading about 500 tracks on Spotify to my phone. I used the app for a few weeks before signing up for the Premium subscription. I never really played around in the settings, and just realized I can change the audio quality for downloaded tracks.
Goodbye 96 kbps, hello 320 kbps.

Discount Tire has a lot of sales, and sometimes tire manufacturers have sales of their own, like when I bought my Hankooks, I got an $80 rebate card from them for buying a set.

I use spotify on my phone, on the tablet in my car, in my home theater system, on my TV...I am sure I could benefit from the premium service

There's an actual music library. You can browse, save individual songs or complete albums, download to your computer/phone/tablet for offline listening, and make your own playlists. They do have a radio feature like Pandora (although I like Pandora's radio more), and they have various premade playlists. There are playlists for various moods, activities, and themes.
The free service is pretty good, and they have a 1 month free subscription trial. I was a Pandora subscriber until a friend recommended Spotify.
The offline listening is huge for me. I drive a lot for work, but am on a corporate plan where we have limited data.
