Paypal got involved and the ad was reposted 10X over by accident because [blankety-blank] offered to help and then, because it was posted in the wrong sections (blankety-blank posted the ad in the personals as well), Crab got a heap of phone calls from lonely men...?

...Yummy, you were spot on. Only thing was you made it sound like Justin didn't welcome the constant random phone calls from guys, or as he calls it. p3nis time.

Well here goes. Please excuse any typos as I am writing from phone.
I still don't understand how me asking for my wheel ended up getting posted on here but it is what it is. I guess he was trying to make me look like a bad person since his car was in the shop at the time.
Saturday night I get a text saying he's coming over tomorrow. Sunday morning before 9 my phone rings and he said he's outside. I get up out of my sleep and I go out . He tries to make a joke oh I forgot the wheel, I go haha where's my wheels. Goes in his trunk and brings out said wheels.
I attempt to inspect and a piece of the sidewall on the tire is torn pretty much like it was cut with a knife or something sharp. The rim itself at that location is un scratched and perfectly ok. So I asked what's up with he said he was in a wreck then proceeds to ask why am I being a dick about it. This is the first time in this whole situation that I'm really getting pissed. Below are a few things that were said not quite in the same order.
Me: what's up with my wheel
J: I was in a wreck
Me: insurance should cover it
J: insurance deemed it safe (this is where I went off)
He then proceeded to say I should find a tire and he'll pay. I was like no mofer why should I do that. Tells me how his friend fucked up his engine and he's going to fix it then his friend pays so I should do the same. At this point I went off on him. Basically told him it's bs and he's hanging with the wrong ppl. He would never let any of us TL guys even move his car but apparently since his friend has a gto among other cars he let him drive it and now it's fucked. After letting him have it and him trying to play it off as a joke I closed my garage door and told him I'm going back to bed. I think this was a relief for him as that is the quickest I've seen someone get in their car and start it.
I'm sure there are other details that I've missed here but you get the main idea. He knew the tire was fucked and tried to hold out as long as possible but eventually felt too guilty and tried to return it. I don't keep a malice with people but at this point we are not cool. I'll say what's up if I see him and chit chat but not otherwise. I notice ever since Jeremy got on his ass he's been purposely avoiding this thread because his conscience can't take it. At the end of the day, it wasn't the tire that pissed me off. It was the bs comments and excuses he tried to dish to me.

Damn man...
I will also say that I hate to say that I predicted it. I do mean that because at the end of the day, Justin means well...at least I truly believe that. He just let's his desire to party and plan to buy a house in the next decade get the best of him and it totally stunts his desire to make the effort to do the right thing.
I mean, if he was embarrassed and after all the bs, why not spend the $120 on a brand new tire and have it mounted for $25. A sincere apology and $150 bucks later...and a friendship remains unscathed and future bbq invites resume. The whole thing sucks.
I wasn't kidding about having had the exact same scenario happen with a borrowed wheel with a close friend. It was the straw that broke the camel's back but many parallels in the sense that I had to ask him not to wear down the tread, and that I needed it back to move my car (it was sitting in my ex mother in law's yard we were moving out of on a brick). He had a new tire and just had it in his trunk but just didn't make the effort to bring it back. I had to drive to his job at Home Depot and walk in and tell him to give it to me. That was the last time I ever saw him and he was a long time HS friend. It just told me that he was taking and his own priorities were all that ever mattered to him.
I'm confident Justin will rectify this and I'm hoping when he does, you'll have a desire to let it go. In his mind, from what him and I have talked about, he has a funny way of rationalizing every interaction with friends as if it's a business transaction. Like, favors equal money etc and to me...do it out of the goodness of your heart, or not at all. Just gets to the point where you reach your breaking point when you feel it's not being reciprocated.

Firstly, TLDude876, you are a VERY nice guy to lend anyone your wheel. Very nice.
But, secondly, unless the guy is literally someone who I know would help me bury a dead body and not say a word...someone who will save my life with no questions asked...I would not have lent it out. Of course, takes two to tangle...the other guy should never had asked unless he knew or considered you similarly...someone who would go to the ends of the earth for him.
But, it's done. Wheels were loaned out...if there is even a hair-line scratch, if I'm the borrower, I would do whatever it takes to get it back to as-is...even if it means buying another rim. Period. No ifs, ands, or buts.
Sigh. There is nothing complicated about this.

Fokk yo wheel Mon!
How much tread is on the tire? Eh, just be done with it. A used wheel and rubber is like $50 on CL. This situation and all that ain't worth it. Sounds like Justn fux'd up. Live and learn, move on.

Like I said I'm not even mad about the wheel but his approach is what did it. Guys come over all the time and use my tools and shits breaks no big deal. Don't try to give me stupid excuses and answers like I'm a damn idiot
My bro borrowed my brand new ramps that I used once and dumped a 2.5 ton van on them, burned one with the exhaust and spliced the other one at the stop peg. I fucking said you keep them, get me new ones.
Steam blew over, told him nevermind, using those fucked up ramps to this day.
Friendship isn't worth a little bit of coin. Even if I lent him my car and he wrecked it, wouldn't matter. If you lend something to a friend, expect not to get it back. If it's habitual, cut them out of your life, they're users (selfish / self-centered, etc).
I don't have users in my circle. Give and take, but make sure you make things right if you do your bro wrong. My bro is selfless, which is why I felt bad for going off a little. I was seriously like wtpho!
