If he wants no less than $9500, pricing it at $11k and accepting offers was the right move

Don't post that shit here.. now if that sucker bought his TL from another member for the homie price of $9.5k and is selling it for $11k.. then we'd have some fun.

Unless you are uber
Then 10,999 means 10,999.. not 10,998 or 10,998.99. You leave, come back, maybe $12,888.

But, I would still offer $34.50 as my opening number at negotiations.

When I sell my house, my posted price will be $510,034.50.

You should ask if he's interested in selling you his wheels..
Chapter Leader (Southern Region)
Honestly.. wouldn't pay a dime over $6.5k for it.

Possibly...that, or the buyer is a bad negotiator.
When you buy a big-ticket item like a car or house, you have a number in mind that you'll open your bank for, no? So, how is this any different? The seller will move at $9500 but will gladly take anything north of that...nothing wrong with it.

All about negotiating. I got the local BMW and Infiniti dealerships in a cute bidding war...X5d versus the Sea Cucumber. Infiniti blinked first and was willing to take my offer of 3.5% over invoice price.
BMW was close though. But, ultimately, I didn't want an X5 as much since well, they are a dime a dozen SUV up here.

Again, same strategy in getting my wife's MINI. Got MINI going in a bidding war against the two local Mercedes dealerships for a C-Class.
MINI blinked first. But, we ultimately wanted the MINI anyhow.

It's also a curse sometimes, because when something goes on sale at a stellar price. I buy. Even if I don't need it. Worst case, someone gets nice xmas present, which they think I spent a fortune on.

Wow, sh*t...same!
We load up on sale-items throughout the year to use later as b-day or Xmas gifts.

I want to see your nuts and bolt.
How do you find invoice price on a car anyway? Does the dealer give that up? I always cringe at my friends when they make dumb-ass moves like accepting a shit trade in offer, haggling with monthly payment amounts, or not even making a single counter-offer.

Once you run the report, it will publish the invoice price and every single manufacturer promotion/incentive for it. So, you are walking into the negotiating with a nice advantage.
