I am the last row of houses in my neighborhood. there are no houses behind me and my back yard faces a levee. past the levee is a field.

on 4th of July I REALLY REALLY REALLLY wanted to do it.

Fireworks are illegal back home, so we shoot guns. Every other year some asshole shoots out instead of up and someone a mile away gets shot. Usually in the head / neck, but luckily most survive.

Also.. if you're ever planning to get a magnifier, might want to consider mounting it forward, not sure if you have enough room on your rail for a magnifier but something to consider.

I have an extended rail. I mounted the red dot far to get better acquisition, but the fucking sight picture is so small.. it's almost a waste. You should have more precision sighting it in close to the eye and have better accuracy. It's a balance, you'll figure it out.

 

well, if i shoot into the levee, I'm sure the dirt will stop the bullet and even then a large field beyond the levee. I wouldnt think it would travel that far if it got past the dirt levee.
past the field is hwy6, where cars commute back and fourth.
Ive always wondered about hitting a car. lol

and yes, im building it as a home defense rifle. So, I would like to acquire the target fast, but still have that accuracy.
