i had rental coverage on the wifey's car but not on mine since if some happens to my car I can drive hers, but if some happens to her car, she cant drive mine LOL....

I didn't mean to escalate or interject my own logic...I didn't think it would end a friendship but it causes tension. I guess I should have just kept my mouth shut. Not the first time.

FWIW Justin, if I lived in Houston, I'd give you a lift, man.

I don't see how members of an internet forum that are not in the same city will help you get to the shop but OK.....Like I said it is nothing personal, I need the use of my wheel. I shouldn't have to justify why I need it but I did just because I didn't want you to go think I was just being mean and not want you having it.

How about riding a bicycle?

I have two slicked out 245 Nexens in the garage if you need rubber. Won't pass safety but still have 5000 miles on them.

Like, channeling the inner- and going around in a bicycle.
Or heck, borrow someone's scooter!

Taxi, as a last resort...public transport, like the bus? What about your brother or mother, they have wheels, yes? The way I see it this is an emergency, he needs his wheel, if you have to take a couple hours off of work or whatever to get it to him you need to do it...my

Yo Dennis, sounds like it's a no win.. best to just wait til Justn gets his whip back and then get things sorted out. Don't worry, if he doesn't come through, I'll post his crabby patty.

Like I said...take time off of work...take your mom to work, go take care of the wheel, deliver wheel and tire...go to work, leave work and pick up mom, go home.

On a related note, my broham and I borrow each other's shit all the time. He lives like .5 mile away so it's no big deal. We have each other's garage codes, so we're always going through each other's shit to find our shit.
I bought some nice new ramps.. I used them once and he asked to borrow them to change the oil of his MIL's handi van. Yeah, he went right over the top of them, burned one with the exhaust pipe and cut down the middle of the other with the subframe. I was pissed.. but they still work so whatever.

And also, get the car-rental option BACK onto your policy.

Honestly guys...when you lend shit to a friend shit is going to happen from time to time...expect it...also, when you borrow you should expect to replace whatever you borrow if you damage it, i.e., return it in the same condition as it was when you received it...just common courtesy. If your brohams aren't willing to do that then they aren't really brohams.

As a general rule, I can count with 2 fingers friends who would ever approach me to borrow my car or even money...and I would allow it.
But, I also know they will pay me back in spades and be very responsible.
I also know that they WILL NOT put me in that position to ask me for money or borrow my car.

Justin...I know you are, not busting your balls...Dennis should be happy to get it back in a month...let's see, November + December + January + February + March + April = 6 months

This is not criticism because I am not privy to the entire situation or in your shoes, J...but, as commentary, if you were "stranded" without a car...and I'm your buddy, I would note the following:
You have a job. Are still capable of renting a car or hiring a cab to get from A to B. I would not be particularly swayed to offer any help to you. I may also casually rib you gently for being a dork and not getting car-rental in your car insurance policy.
I mean, if you were a GIRL, maybe I'd be more swayed to help in your scenario? But, you're a man...I think you're fine...just a bit inconvenienced...but, not in dire straits. Dunno...not trying to be harsh or trying to e-kick you here. Just sayin'.

inconvenienced for sure.
and agree with you, as if i were in his shoes, i would want my shit back too.
and at this point anything that comes out of my mouth is an excuse.
will try my hardest, tomorrow. as there's nothing I can do today.

Story...I have a neighbor who I am friendly with, wouldn't say we're bros...about 6 months ago he asks me to borrow my car during the week for about 3-4 weeks while he saves money to replace the tranny in his wife's Honda Odyssey. He knows I don't drive my TL much during the week, especially in the winter. I said I didn't feel comfortable doing it, that I insure the car and if damaged I would be responsible for the damage and repairs because he doesn't have the extra cash to even pay my $1000 deductible if he is in an accident. We are still neighbors but apparently we're not friendly any longer because he won't even wave when he sees me now. Long story, but this guy works for a worldwide Christian organization that is based here. He and his family send out requests about every 6 months asking for personal donations to his family so they can continue to spread the "word". But then he and his son go on golf trips to Arizona a couple times a winter. I think it is very presumptuous of him to think that I would "donate" my car when they do shit like that. Like Jeremy said, my true friends would never ask to borrow my car but I would lend it to them in a heartbeat if they needed it.
