saw some kids at the gym yesterday....I was doing 21's superset with 21 x skull crushers...So I had a 45lb bar... (yes am a lightweight when it comes to arms)....
so these kids had a 60 lb bar and they were trying to do 21's....I swear this dude was swinging so much I thought he is gonna break his back....well high school kids....

I do free weights but most of my strength is from natural bodyweight training. In HS and college it was mostly weight training, but I find that genuine strength comes from using your own weight. My buddy has diesel arms, but I challenged him to do one arm pushups.. he couldn't do one.
The strongest guy I know doesn't weight train. I asked him to do weighted squats just for shits, he squatted 400 lbs without even trying and he's a buck fifty. He can also do 40 pullups. shieettt.

Bodyweight training is much better for functional strength IMO.

Only problem with bodyweight training is that you eventually have to add belts with additional weight. Bodyweight training + weight training is the perfect combo. It's solid if you can still do pull ups/push ups/dips at the end of your workout.

I went slacking after December 2012....but when I was in my best shape, I would hang a 45lb plate between my legs for tricep dips and 25lb plate for pull ups....For push-ups I would have the wifey stack 2x45lbs on my back.....
All sets were done to 12 reps....4 sets
Love body weight + added weight training....then got married and parents were here....I put on freaking 12 odd lbs haha

I don't agree that you need to add weight.

Yeah I guess it depends on what you're going for. If you're looking to build size and strength, you need to add weight because your body will get use to lifting the same weight and then plateau. If you're looking to get cut, then by only lifting your body weight you'll keep increasing the amount of repetitions you can do. Personally I prefer building size with 6-8 reps of heavy weight. Not a fan of doing like 25 reps of light weight. But to each their own.

yeah I like to burn fat and not carbs....Insanity takes you over the threshold where you body starts burning fat....
rule of thumb while working out is "you build the body in the kitchen"....
all depends on how you eat....you can do insanity for months with no end and if you eat stupid junk all through the day....it aint gonna do shit....
I like working out at a high intensity....I will make sure my heart rate is around 135-140....and I do active rest....so while resting, I will just jog in place or skip in place....but i dont want my heart rate to go above 150-ish....
i warm up for 5-7 minutes....workout for 40....cool off and stretch for 5-7 minutes....on a cardio day, I go swimming or running.....but yeah I like to keep my heart rate between 150-160 while doing cardio....
then I fuck it all up by coming home and eating Chicken Biryani
