I'm not mocking it. I think it's amazing.
However, Amazon isn't suppose to have it publicly listed yet. Big news over the techosphere.

Holy shit, that actually gives the photos are really cool effect. Really shallow and soft DOF with some bokeh.
Not paying $250 to mount my $1000 lenses to my phone though

too late.. pre-ordered.
I'm waiting to see if it's at least as good as the NEX line. I don't expect it to be amazing, but if it's fairly light and no major cons, I'll buy it. They had me at F1.8.

^Yep. I'll wait. Always hard for me to jump on Gen 1 products.
Austin: I'm not sure you're understanding what I linked is. It's not just a lens.

I was pretty stoked for the action cam.. but with the funky AWB underwater, poorly thought out case design in terms of audio and port connections.. I passed. I may still buy one, but likely half the going rate.

It's basically a camera. But more like an extension. So no "os" on the "camera/lens/extension". It just sends it's data to your phone.
So many options with that. Angles you can shoot and still be able to see what your shooting on your phone that you couldn't before. Self portraits... Etc.
Watch the video on Amazon. They did a great job with it.

Sounds pretty damn cool. Although the same can be achieved with a DSLR, it's a bit more costly.
I'm interested to see how pictures turn out from it.

Only a few DSLRs that offer detachable LCD viewfinders, right?
Anyways, yea, pretty cool.

Well, not detachable, but they can fold out and swivel. My 60D does and it's awesome for getting shots when you have the camera really low or high. I usually fold it out too so my face doesn't smudge the screen.
But yeah, if you wanted to use the camera and not look through it, you'd just need a wireless remote, compose the shot before you take it.
I find it nice that they're making lenses and such for phones, it's getting more technical and people can take better pictures, but I'll never get into it because I have a camera already. Still cool though.

Oh man! And the new CuBox-i! Sooo tempting!
I wonder if they have officially ported XBMC over to the CuBox. Hmmm

I kinda wish my D7000 had the swivel live view LCD. But to be honest, ALL the flip out screens felt gimmicky and cheap to me Sorry, don't kill me!
Anyway, good friend of mine gave me a 6 foot samsung to mini usb cord to connect my galaxy to the DSLR. Then I downloaded the DSLR dashboard for my Galaxy S4 and was able to make adjustments to the camera and zoom and F stop and then be able to snap the picture. Helps with the selfies of my peen on macro mode.
What he was most impressed with on my Nikon was the IR sensors on both FRONT and BACK. He said that would be VERY useful if I ever get a remove trigger.

If you're into video though.. definitely worth the coin to do an external screen.

I understand the screen problem, J. My buddy Dave hates them but I love it. Mine feels pretty solid.
That's pretty cool, I wonder if I can do that with my phone and camera do you go through an app to make the adjustments?
IR sensors FTW. My last camera didn't have any!
P.S. I can proudly say I have not taken one selfie with this camera.

Negative. It had issues and the seller felt completely untrustworthy (meth head etc). I bailed.

Austin, I've never taken a selfie that I'll admit to with my dslr either!
I don't know about Iphone, but I'm sure it'll work. He has Canon and the dashboard for his was way nicer than the one for Nikon. Look into it!
