Pro: I would not have a car payment.
Con: My savings would be depleted to about 25% of what it is now, but I would take my car payment and put in automatically towards my savings, and increase that amount in about a month when my wife graduates and starts making mad money. I would be hedging my bet that I would not need that savings in the next month...

I think I'm going to do it.
Why not wait until she graduates if its only a couple months. Then deplete savings and watch it grow up again!

You guys are financially stable (say you get shit canned, enough in savings to keep you afloat until you or the better half is back in the work force), no credit card debt, interest rate on the car is more than rate of return on your savings (yes), and you have no other loans / interest rate on other loans is lower than the car loan.
I'm guessing you still have a note on the house, also consider putting savings into house. Say you owe $5k on the car at 5.5% over the next 3 years. Say you owe $220k roughly (you have been paying house off for 6 years now, purchased at $250k) @ 4.5% with 24 years left on it. That $5k will save you roughly $500 over the next 3 years if you pay off the car. Say your mortgage payment is $1270 roughly, if you put it into the house at this point, in that 3 year period, staying on a fixed mortgage payment, you'd save $700, and roughly $5k over the life of the loan.
Something to think about.

I had this done January 30th..

http://www.spine-health.com/treatmen...-spine-surgery
A microdiscectomy is performed through a small (1 inch to 1 1/2 inch) incision in the midline of the low back.
First, the back muscles (erector spinae) are lifted off the bony arch (lamina) of the spine. Since these back muscles run vertically, they can be moved out of the way rather than cut (see Figure 1).
The surgeon is then able to enter the spine by removing a membrane over the nerve roots (ligamentum flavum), and uses either operating glasses (loupes) or an operating microscope to visualize the nerve root.
Often, a small portion of the inside facet joint is removed both to facilitate access to the nerve root and to relieve pressure over the nerve.
The nerve root is then gently moved to the side and the disc material is removed from under the nerve root.
