Honeywell RTH6500

Wanted a WiFi controllable one so I can adjust the temps remotely, but I don't care for the giant color touchscreen model. I thought I wanted it, but realized it's like twice as much for geewhiz features only. And since most of the controlling will be via app, IDGAF what the unit actually looks like.

I had the pussier version of that one that didn't even have any smart functionality.

Yeah. All I need is the dumbest thing with WiFi control. And I've had an older Honeywell 7-day programmable for over a decade. Literally. I bought it in early 2000s when I worked for Honeywell and got employee discount and have installed it in 3 houses. Taking it with me when I move each time. So hopefully this thing lasts as long.

Yeah, that makes me chuckle, the "free" stuff you get for rediculously expensive purchases.
I'm facing a new roof for the house (hail storm / insurance jerb) and they construction company is like, "we'll toss that in, we'll cover this and that, we won't charge you for this or that, blah blah blah".
And I'm like, yeah fools I know how much you're pulling in on the jerb, tossing in $80 worth of pipe flashing isn't hitting your bottom end any.
Now pound my bottom end some more and let the insurance guys watch.

"Free" $120 controller on a $10,000 AC job is a rounding error.

I have ADT. It's either them or Chubb security or Vivint. I had Chubb before and found them meh and Vivint's sales tactics left me with a sour taste.
