That's why I would consider something American. Not at nice, but the price on the Germans does get a bit outlandish.

And you'll see what I'm talking about. I have the invoice price right here...A bit over $68K with everything except the steering and suspension. So, if I'm negotiating with the idea of giving them some profit and adding in the 5% tax, boom it's a touch over $70K.
This is one of those rare instances where it's cheaper to buy in Canada. It's weird. This is why I'm kinda gung-ho after the S5. C'mon bud, you should know I rarely talk out of my @$$ when it comes to this stuff, right? I'm

As the top-of-the-line Prestige model (a $4400 additional outlay over the standard Premium Plus trim), our S5 Sportback test car came equipped with the bigger infotainment screen and an in-dash navigation system, an upgraded sound system, a head-up display, a 360-degree-view camera system, LED interior lighting, and Audi’s chic Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster. It also sported the $1800 Driver Assistance package (adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beams), $1250 worth of quilted leather, and $500 in carbon-fiber dashboard trim, bringing the slinky hatchback’s as-tested price to $68,350. That’s $3000 more than a similarly equipped Audi S4 and $200 lessthan an equivalent S5 coupe.

Okay.. I optioned out with teknik and adaptive controls basic white bitch model with red calipers and cf inlays. Came out to 71k. Not terrible, but what about fees and taxes? Shiettt.. get a deal Yumcha.

Now, throw in say, 3.5% profit. And give the tax, I'm a touch over $72K. This will include fees already too. It's not terrible...the only negative is I have an ETA towards October/November. I dunno, I'm gathering my method of car purchase is unconventional? I don't think it is, right? I think the disconnect was that you were basing your concept of the S5 on US pricing and that had you bewildered thinking the Canuckian amount was an exact conversion and well, yeah, I'd be closer to a $80K CAD car.
If that were the case, I'm back cross-shopping the E-Class (non-AMG) Estate.

Canuckian add-ons for pricing include freight which is $2095CAD and an air-conditioning tax of $100. Then, after that, it's just the federal and provincial taxes you throw in.

Yesterday, I found out that there is a 3 amp fuse in the 24VAC controller circuit for my house AC. And if you fuck up installing a new thermostat and blow that fuse, shit stops working.
Me, a dumbass, found this out in the heat of the day. Triple digits outside and 80 in the house. Shitlocks.
One of those voices in the back of my head was like, "well, genius, you fucked the AC *yet again* at the worst possible time. Should probably just go kill yourself now."
But then Mrs. Wagon, who is much smarter than me, told me to quit being such a little bitch and go take a picture of the wiring diagram from inside the unit. And she was like, go check this fuse you little beta incel cuck.
And sure as shit. AC is back on now.

You mean you didn't just pull the breaker prior to installing a new thermostat?

That's the kicker...
For the first time in, like, ever, I did throw the breaker before doing it. But I now know that the breaker at the box is for the compressor only and not the air handler and control circuit. That's a switch in the attic next to the HVAC plenum and motor.
I know this now. So if my balls ever grow back and I attempt to install the new thermostat again, this shouldn't happen again.
Yes, I didn't even finish the install I'm such a bitch put the old one back on to troubleshoot and never swapped it after getting up and running.
I am this week's bitch. I accepted this fact.

My alarm system battery died yesterday. Alarm reminded me this morning at 4 AM. The alarm sounds like a break in.

Honeywell RTH6500
Wanted a WiFi controllable one so I can adjust the temps remotely, but I don't care for the giant color touchscreen model. I thought I wanted it, but realized it's like twice as much for geewhiz features only. And since most of the controlling will be via app, IDGAF what the unit actually looks like.
