I don't see why people are so negative about those sorts of ambitious projects. I say, those types of dreamers should be supported and encouraged to the fullest extent.

Did you see the video of the two engine VW posted in the thread? The shift linkage is a jerry rigged system shifting two transmissions at the same time. Likely the same for the clutches also. They also had the engine all within the golf with what looks like minimal body chopping... he has to cut the entire trunk out and relocate the gas tank to inside the cabin. One looks to be professionally built by skilled mechanics at a shop, with what seems to be a very large sized budget, judging by it having two turbo engines putting out a combined 1600hp. The other seems to be anything besides that. Also- the I4s the Golf uses, along with it's transmissions are smaller and lighter than the TL V6 and transmission. You need way more bracing than what that Golf had. Is he engineering the subframe himself? Does he know what he's doing, or is he just like "oh yeah, that steel pipe should hold"?
Hey, if he can do a good job without killing himself or anyone else, go for it. But this looks like a crazy intense project, looking to be completed by a guy who had issues diagnosing boost issues on his SC install.

The biggest error would be going manual tranny, trying to link things together. Auto would be superior: just let the damn computer figure it out. Piece of cake.

Shiiiet... Sounds like I might be getting a job offer in the next day or two, judging by what one of my references told me. I dunno if I should take it... Ponder, I must. More money and more work, though I don't know how much work. Right now it's feast or famine when it comes to having shit to do... And it sucks when it's famine time. 8hr day feels like 16 hours.
That and I don't know how I feel about being responsible for jr. Employees. I've mentored coworkers and summer students, but never more than one person at a time.
I ended up getting the job offer yesterday. Negotiating salary now. I think I will likely end up taking the job. I have a whopping 11 minute commute to work right now. It'll go down to 7 minutes when I start at the new place
Sure beats the days when I used to commute 40-45 minutes one way. I definitely don't miss those days.
