I'm wondering, if I swap my Accord rims for the TL rims will it reduce my payout? Reason I ask is because my Accord tires are old, my TL tires are new? I think this is a bad idea, but I might try it. IDK. But if I do, I gotta do it tonight.

Only because I need my Accord to be road worthy for me, and the tires are almost done

You don't think it would hurt my payout much?

It's not going to look too weird on Accord wheels because I have spacers on the TL, and unfortunately, my torque wrench stripped the nuts so I'm leaving them on the car.

Your torque wrench stripped the nuts? That alot of torque, they only need 85lbs which does not feel like much when torquing in a star pattern.

So this is what we're looking at. They took the car to IAH today to appraise it. I'm seriously considering buying it back and repairing it as everything still works and no fluid is leaking and the car still drives perfectly straight. Obviously, I need a new everything in the front end. The front car oxygen sensor is crushed into the radiator. It's throwing a P0154 code, to be expected. No exhaust leaks though.

MM,

As we discussed via PM, buy it back and try to buy the parts I've sourced for you. It will help keep the costs way down, especially since those parts are WDP. At the end of the day, you're ok and that's the most important thing.

My personal experience with insurance.

My wife was involved in a serious accident in 2019. The vehicle was a total loss.

They towed the vehicle to the yard while the adjuster was to view the vehicle. I met with the adjuster, provided information to him and gathered whatever else was left in the car.

The adjuster called me within 24 hours and told me what they were offering which was almost 3K more than what was on the market. I accepted the offer.

Here's where it got shady. Even though I agreed, I still had the title and didn't receive the payment, I still owned the vehicle. They towed the vehicle to an insurance auction facility. They nearly sold the vehicle while I still had the keys, title and no payment. I hired an attorney immediately and tore them all new assholes.

Once payment hit my account, I released the keys and title to the insurance company. Vehicle was sold the following day and stripped for parts. Ironically, a FB group I was following, posted some aftermarket parts that were available on eBay. I said to myself "boy those look like the parts I had", sure enough.. they were.

What MM needs to do and do quickly is contact his insurance company and figure out what's going on. These are things I advised him to do in our PM. I don't know how buy backs work, but in my case the car was far too gone.

That's probably what I'm going to do. Thanks for linking those parts to me. I am concerned about shipping big pieces, like a hood, not sure how that's done

I'm just waiting to hear the numbers from state farm before I make any moves. They said it's probably going to be a week or so until I hear anything from them. They did take my receipts for everything like parts, maintenance and aftermarket equipment. I'm hoping to get as much as I can to work with

My B pillars aren't buckled, not to what I noticed. The trim popped loose from the seat belt

Everyone keeps telling me to gather the parts and find someone that can throw it back together for cheap. Idk. Even my mechanic looked at the pictures and said the damage isn't very bad at all

Installing everything except the radiator support is fairly straight forward. As long as you have a body shop install the radiator support, check everything is within spec, the rest is cake. You can have the body shop install the rest of the front end to assure it's 100% correct and do the smaller stuff yourself.

I can but I absolutely hate getting into big mechanical projects, mainly because I live in an apartment with a small driveway and I'm surrounded by other cars.

I can probably do like the bumper and grille myself. I wanna get the A-spec kit so I'll take this as a good opportunity as I'll probably doing a little painting for something I'm sure
I'm mostly concerned about finding an Airbag assembly, I need to do some research on that

Airbags are a dime a dozen on Ebay

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...irbag&_sacat=0

https://www.safetyrestore.com/ Can repair your seat belt.

A-spec front and rear lips are somewhat obtainable from Acura since your TL is WDP. There are two FB group members that have kits, Benny and Jay

You will also need an Airbag module.

Yo thanks. I'll look into that. I'm hoping to collect most of the parts and drop them off, along with the car, to have them installed along with anything else I can need. I'm hoping I can have this done on a budget.

Thanks, I'll check this stuff out!
