Hey, DeerMeat, that cheap-o ceramic coating stuff that you recommended in some random thread last week, for doing wheels... would that work for windows too? Or do I need a special window ceramic coating? Is that such a thing? Is it just called Rain-X?

But it was a 60" rear projection, not 65" LED. Poverty spec, not middle-class.

And both TVs are still sitting in my entryway. I think I'm finally going to suck it up and drive them over to the electronics recycling place a few cities over and actually *pay* to get rid of them.

Nah, probably take a trip to the beach tomorrow, like Flippy... but I'll dump some TVs into the gulf. Return them to their natural habitat, with the car batteries.

WE have rolling "e-waste" recycling that random cities around us would hold and you can drop of things like these.. Have you considered just driving to CA to drop it off? Maybe get some In n Out on the way

Thank you. Looks like I'll have at least one more ready by Monday morning. I'll try to get a better pic with at least 3 of them before I box everything up.
Thickness of the mainshaft and differential shims and a note to myself letting me know which particular case it is. (customer's name, where I sourced it from, etc), so that I don't have to waste time remeasuring / reshimming.

I watched a wheeler dealers episode where they had a guy rebuild a trans and boy is that a labor of love.
Curious, what led you to this particular thread?

He could sense the BDE in this thread. Even if MM's mangina significantly reduces the average.

Yeah brother, the stuff is pretty magical and if you get this cheap one you won't feel badly about putting it on everything.

Yeah, that's the one. I got it for $15 dollhairs a week or so ago.
Just wasn't sure if it would work right on glass. I learned that applying a coat of, uh, whatever the hell last thing I used for a top coat on the car paint, to the windows worked well when it started to rain, but as soon as I hit the wipers, it got all wonky. And now, it's a smeared pain in the ass whenever it's raining. I need to clean it off and either go back to bare glass or some topping that's meant for it. Like Rain-X.
But I'll give that ceramic stuff a shot.
