Quick post from my cell:
Yes, a 3x3 is recommended ...always....to get most of the old fluid out and new fluid in....
I think when you start the car maybe the car pushes out the fluid from the torque converter.... hence flushing out all the old fluid while u fill in new fluid...
Think about it, the automatic transmission capacity is 7.8 qts but you have to do a 5x3 in order to have more than 90% new fluid.... someday i would like to follow the video and do a flush and use only 9-10 qts of fluid....

i think it should be fine....all you are doing is pumping the old fluid out (from the return hose) while you keep filling the transmission....
I know, it's pretty retarded. I did buy it to put a million miles on until it's death but lately I feel like I'll only have it for another year at this rate. The black is from her tire and I'm going to try to get most of that off after her adjuster comes for pics. I had a small dent from road debris on my driver side fender and she managed to straighten it out but now my head light has a small eyelid thanks to the warping. Other than that it wasn't too bad. Weird thing is that I take my car in Feb 11th for repairs on the passenger side bumper and now that the other side is trashed I'm gonna see if I can get a type S
..........Each oil has different characteristics at temp and pressure, a mix is not linear and will separate, over time this could do harm (which I hypothesize has done to some members who introduced a mix early on with no previous trans issues). The benefit of mixing is not there. You may end up doing more harm than a straight fluid. If you do mix.. don't mix Racing F.
There was quite a laundry list of problems, including some not trans related. Many of the trans problems mentioned I didn't know exactly what they were talking about so naturally I don't remember them.
The internal filter is not in that pic, it was under the table, but it was clogged. It didn't look like any filter I've ever seen. I could see how it wouldn't take much to clog it.
My clutch discs(?) were burnt. They said some of the parts showed wear indicative of a bad pressure control solenoid (that thing sitting on the table all by itself, not on the towels).
Also in this pic.................

those bearing assemblies are supposed to allow turning in the middle only, but mine were turning on the outside also. In other words, that whole piece was spinning when it wasn't supposed to. There were other problems related to the trans, but I don't remember them.
My front and rear motor mounts were bad, so they replaced those. No labor, parts only, since they had easy access to them. I went ahead and bought the side mount as well figuring it was probably bad also. That is going to be a weekend project eventually.
Also had some suspension issue on the drivers side ( which I had suspected for a while now) that I will have to look into fixing as well.
I guess I should stop driving like I stole it.

Also.. side mount.. really easy. You should see mine (looking for link)..
No bueno.. yeah, that damn little filter in the valve body is usually the first to clog. Some guys put detergent through it hoping to clear the clogs but it usually makes it worse. I'm guessing the burnt gears was to the thin fluid.. I've heard of the pressure solenoids (A and B) going out of spec but I'm inclined to think the fluid was the main culprit. Is it a full rebuild. I'd pay a little extra coin if not.

full rebuild
and can you tell if the side mount is damaged before actually removing it from the car? It seems to have a plastic cover over the top so I can't see the condition of the rubber piece.
I think you should be able to cut the dust cover off as well. Honestly.. if the front mount is shit.. the side mount is definitely shit.
Fast =/= big rear brakes. In fact, high rear brake bias can be as bad as going down a hill on a bicycle and hitting the front brakes.
