@ retards lining up at best buy already. Funny how our society is in love with things that some are willing to skip family time and good food for a small deal. Sad.

Because what you don't realize is that while you have the CHOICE to spend time with your family or hate them and pick saving a buck over them you are FORCING the employees to miss their family time. They have to be there 2 hours before the store opens if they are line level employees and 3-5 hours if they are supervisor/management meaning thanksgiving dinner does not happen. Especially in my case where my celebration happens in va and I live in philly. So getting back by midnight is already hard enough if I leave at 6pm which is already leaving almost as the party gets started.

you might be fine not being able to spend time with your family but I am not ok with that. Also by opening at midnight stores are not capable of having enough employees to cover those hours. So the people who do open have to be here at 10pm thursday night and work till 10am fri morning go home and come BACK to work at 5pm friday night to close the store down. Imagine what that would do if you open at 9pm. Extend those hours even more. No thanks. I really feel like employees need to fight back and boycott this shit as it has gotten way out of hand.

Already they completely ignore your availability for this one day and basically tell you "you either show up for your shift/s or you don't show back up to work again"

I'm hoping they don't get any bright ideas about pro-rating my commission or anything like that. Judging by this economy...I'd say I'm effed.

I set the account up in stages and never heard a peep about the impending doom of the company until the very last location was going in.

An alarm clock which will only switch off if you smile at it. A genius and potentially catastrophically annoying concept by Kim Jungwoo.

What do you have to clean up, I mean what comes up on a hotel system?
I enjoy the data center work much more then field work. Theres 40+ hours at the data center every week, handling the service calls in the field completely wipes me out and pisses off the data center customer.

Clean up = fix the assists mistakes with configs or clean up cabling, address oversights. The lead on large hotels doesnt really deal with the assists, at least in theory, because there is a staging coordinator that is supposed to watch them and make sure all of the terminals are done properly. But thats enough bitching about my coworkers, I honestly dont like doing that, but that hotel pissed me off.

FUCKING This shit is getting ridiculous. People had their Christmas decorations out the day after Halloween. They celebrate more for Christmas then they do for July 4th or Veterans day. Those are much more important days in history then Christmas IMHO. Most people dont even remember when Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is.

With that said, I do partake in some of the sales only on things I need. Such as...

I was looking for either a tv or a good monitor for the office. Newegg is running their Black November dealers (queue datswacist.gif), and one of their daily deals was on a 24" Acer 1080p 3D monitor. It was ~$50 off, so I bought two They are AWESOME.

It's not so much "death to unions" as it is death to greedy CEO's that are getting wealthier as companies such as hostess are declining. I'm sure everyone is willing to take a 30% pay cut and loss of pension/healthcare, while the CEOs are giving themselves/executives 800% raises and bonuses. Unions get a bad rep most of the time, but people are failing to see what the CEOs are doing to those companies that force them into bankruptcy/ out of business.

/rant from a union member.

Been there. Done that. Glad I got out of it after 4 years, esp. when the company I worked for is considering following Wal-Mart's plan to not just be open on Black Friday, but open on Thanksgiving as well & are testing it this year on a few stores nationwide.

Yeah, fuck that. A department no one even looks at on Black Friday, yet I still had to work 4am-3:30pm by myself which meant everyone else got to enjoy the "holiday". All because my department's boss decided he needed Thanksgiving-Saturday off this year just one week after taking a week long plus vacation & he knew I was the only one who could run the department through that time frame. I'd probably be screwed over again this year with that chore.

Yeah I remember the good days when shit was closed on Holidays AND Sundays. People spent time together as a family and kids were told to go play in the street.
